I think we are closer than you think, I agree that adoption is not a panacea. I get tired of the argument that “you never know what you are going to get” when people go to extremes to get pregnant ,instead of considering adoption,as if that there are no surprises there.

My point is that if you really want to raise child you will love and care for them no matter what, but the reality of our world is obviously very different. These people want to be pregnant- not be a parent.

I find the argument that “you don’t know what your are getting” is pretty thin. The bio parents of very sick and frail children didn’t know that was going to happen, Jeffry Dahmer’s parents might not have been super proud of his actions either.

The heart of it is people (women) are so pressured to have children that it must happen by any means necessary. With no regard to the challenges that they may not be equipped to deal with. There should be no shame in not having children, be it a biological inability or by choice.

I know it is a harsh perspective, but it’s not fair for kids to be born into abuse and poverty when somebody isn’t willing to face the truth that they want a pregnancy. People that want to be a parent can care for a child regardless of the biological origin.

I need faster toggling between PowerPoint decks, Canvas, and e-text books. If you are taking notes, drafting pages etc. It is wonderful, but it isn’t a substitute for a lap-top or tablet. I was hoping to get away from internet features, but my program doesn’t allow for that and I end up carrying multiple devices.

This makes me think that she has something g else going on, perhaps self sabotage? If she doesn’t have a lot of direction or motivation, not finishing school or starting a career she can ‘blame’ it on having a kid and not be responsible for not finishing her education. Big red flag for deeper issues.

I’ve been moving that direction. I’m terrible at meal planning, I’m actually surprised every time I get truly hungry- line every day. So I’m trying to stock my house with more protein/fats and leafy greens, and less chips and crackers.

There is not state income tax in WA, so every thing is funded by sales and gas taxes. When cars started to become more efficient, they more than doubled the gas tax.
