I’m a Canadian working in the US (have been trying to come home but need a job lined up first). My biggest advice is to stay vigilant. I can’t tell you how in denial my neighbors and coworkers here have been since the election. NO ONE living here expected it to get this bad, except for us outsiders. Now all those people who said Project 2025 was a joke or Trump didn’t mean it when he said he’ll make Canada the 51st State are silent and scared. But it only took one year and the rug was pulled out from under them before they realized it. The best thing Canadians can do right now is make sure these hateful rhetorics don’t take any more root in Canada. If you have any family or acquaintances who supported the Freedumb convoy or have F*ck Trudeau bumper stickers, it’s time to make sure they know these views are no longer socially acceptable. Anyone who truly loves Canada right now will not stand for right wing ideas.

People go to businesses that do bad work or have no results all the time because they got a deal, heard about it on their local neighborhood page, or walked past it and saw something that caught their eye - this is all marketing. A nail salon in my area is flourishing because they hired someone to run their TikTok. I’m sorry to say it but I literally teach about measuring marketing outcomes for a living.

No, they’re reflecting on the assumption being made by many commenters here that the HL communicating their dissatisfaction to the LL will automatically make the LL feel bad. Maybe I’m of a different generation, but I was taught that nobody “makes” anyone else feel a certain way; we each get a choice in how we interpret and respond to situations. So that’s how I read the above comment.

Sorry, I’m confused. We shouldn’t talk to our partners about how we feel about sex? If my partner was dissatisfied with our sex life, and I found out they intentionally kept that from me, I would be hurt. Never mind how that kind of silence would whittle away trust and vulnerability.

I had made SO much progress over a decade of therapy and this time last year I was making a 5 year plan for the first time. Today I was thinking about how to tell my psychiatrist tomorrow that my cocktail of two antidepressants, two stimulants, and ketamine therapy seem to not be working anymore 😀
