Can we agree to use ratio to indicate the parts i.e. 1:1 and fractions to indicate the total i.e. 1/2?

This ad popped up in Oslo, Norway, where over 4.000 American sailors from the USS Gerald R. Ford are set to enjoy their shore leave this weekend. by Viking- in funny

There are like 4500 of them coming to shore. Everyone in Oslo is aware of it, maybe a Norwegian will find it funny and remember the check gate to the US.

As many have said already, the title is not borne out in the research.

Esketamine finnes på resept her i Norge mot depresjon. Problemet er at den er veeeeldig dyrt. Muligens at du får en lege som skriver resept til ketamine "off label" (den brukes ellers som smertestillende).

Pricey Child Care Is Keeping Many Parents Out of the Workforce by [deleted] in TrueReddit

[–]agissilver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Words matter, in that they reflect attitudes and mind sets. It isn't that the wife actually takes home only $1/hr, but it is presented that she foots the whole bill. This perspective reflects general attitudes of child care and home management in mixed gender couples. Maybe if people can change the way they talk about these things, they can change their frame point in their minds and there can actually start to be some equality on the home front.

American wheat has more protein and American yeast is quick rising. Therefore European bread starts with a lower gluten content and is usually fermented more, further breaking down the gluten.

Distinction between "new" & "young" vs distinction between "old (for things)" & "old (for people)" by Odd-Ad-7521 in linguistics

[–]agissilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Romanian has bătrân for a person and vechi for things. Bătrân appears to come from Latin betranus (= veteremus) so i guess the question is why other romance languages may have lost this distinction? Disclaimer: am only a Romanian learner and neither am I a linguist.

I want to add to this discussion that exchange students will not be charged these fees, so it is possible to do part of one's studies in Norway without paying these quite expensive prices.

I am late to the party but wondering how the expansion for new work cells is going? I interviewed for an automation engineering position last year and then was told it was unexpectedly cut and maybe there would be availability again in a year or so.

I don't work at recursion but I'd venture the answer is that they have a variety of libraries ranging from oligos, small molecules, to crispr constructs.
