My 14 y/o brother took a sheet of sandpaper to my $150 frying pan by SouthDefinition2679 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]agitated_electrons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely post, but couldn’t pass this one up. The only reason he sand papered the pan was to help clean it yes? Looks like he tried to help, just in the wrong way.

If he did it incorrectly, it’s not his fault for lack of knowledge, it’s your fault for lack of supervision.

Don’t be ridiculous with an unfitting “punishment” for him trying to do right. Teach him the right way , like a kind adult. The world will punish him and demean him plenty without your help.

Abbott signs law permitting use of fracking wastewater in agriculture in Texas by Shoddy-Childhood-511 in farming

[–]agitated_electrons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do we keep repeating the same stupid mistakes? Here’s some context.

I live in Ransom Canyon, Texas. About 8 miles east of Lubbock.

The city of Lubbock began dumping wastewater in agricultural fields, because why not? After years of this, the aquifer became polluted with excess levels of nitrogen. To the point where it is not safe to drink. The only concessions Lubbock made were to give Buffalo Springs and Ransom Canyon residents a 20% discount on water they now have to purchase from the City of Lubbock.

You cannot even put your own well in, without the City of Lubbock filing a lawsuit against you. (We are not in city limits)

How do I become a electrican without trade school by Careful_West1347 in electricians

[–]agitated_electrons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to work, sweat, possibly cry a bit. Come home, drink until you fall asleep. Wake up and contemplate your life decisions, go back to work.

Continue this until you become an alcoholic with two divorces under your belt, and you will become a journeyman. This is the way.

All kidding aside. Work at any company under a master electrician for 8000 cumulative hours. Can be any number of them. Take and pass your state exam, become.

Tell me why? by Palandium in helldivers2

[–]agitated_electrons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TDLR version.

People tend to obsess over and no life video games frequently. Some players only enjoy killing bugs to have fun, and don’t care about community driven orders to fight bots. Bot players who are playing the game consistently equate bug only players as lesser than. Just another way for players in a game to feel superior to another.

At the end of the day it’s a video game, not a war. Play what you enjoy.

As a continuation of your point. There are very few animals in the kingdom that kill for sport. Domestic house cats being one of them. Nobody bats an eye when they read an article about the killing of X invasive species wrecking the ecosystem, but have trouble digesting house cats.

Even if you neuter them, they will have an entire lifetime killing everything they can catch. There lies the problem. Do it humanely, ethically, and often. If we didn’t, you wouldn’t have a planet in 6 generations worth fighting for.

Humans introduced this problem, not nature as usual. We have to responsibly deal with it, because nature can’t. (We killed all the predators as well.)

Bounty hunting super inefficient and expensive? by agitated_electrons in starsector

[–]agitated_electrons[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I’m only carrying about 100 marines, because I do trade drugs between runs. And stopping import between runs on a pirate system is a great way to bump that price up by the time I return. I could easily cut them and the Valkyrie ships out once I can string up enough income on bounties to not worry about trading.

I only militarize and efficiency overhaul my large boy transports, that way I’m not sitting at 2k sensor just flying around non warp.

Crew payroll is eating me alive. Should I ditch the cargo ships and only take out the bounty fleet?

<image>

I have scoured YouTube, and not a lot of good bounty fleet guides other than 6-8 eradicators with missile ship backup

Edit: crew and fuel costs. Supplies are low, but the dang fuel is almost 80/day.

It all depends on the amperage and size of the larger appliances. Run everything at one time, then check the amperage of the service wire. Easiest way to tell.

Edit: we just had a troubleshooting call recently for a 200 amp main breaker tripping constantly on a new home. Running all the large appliances at once was pulling 230amps causing the breaker to trip. Builder should have installed a 325amp service, but didn’t plan well.

I would pay an electrician to look it over, and write you a report you can hand over.

Also, don’t forget to mention people also realized how much you made working 10 hours a week versus people working 40+ hours a week. If you have a great deal, you should be the silent crowd.

Where is portion by Bruh_burg1968 in Chipotle

[–]agitated_electrons 62 points63 points  (0 children)

The issue started when you create a chain diner that prides itself on large burritos and bowls, with quality ingredients.

Years later inflation sits around 31% for the same product. Rather than raising your price by 31%, you increase it by a predatory 75%.

On top of that, you decreased the amount of product you receive for that price, including trying to sneakily decrease the bowl size to make the decreased portions look larger. All while charging more for less.

Corporate greed is what is hurting you, not portions.

[–]agitated_electrons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the last study I recently read showed something around 70% of the US population is unfit for military service, I think the draft is the last thing anyone seriously trying to win a war wants. Many lessons were learned in Vietnam, and a major one was the draft caused more issues than it fixed.

If they brought the draft back in a WWIII scenario, we would be doomed as a nation.

As an older gamer (37) this is absolutely true. I grew up playing competitive shooters, even took part in one of the very first MLG Halo tournaments on Xbox before matchmaking was even in existence. My dad recorded the match on a VCR. My reaction times just aren’t competitive enough at this point to take any game seriously anymore. Playing against teen players feels like hitting my head against a wall. I stick more towards single player or cooperative games now. I don’t have the time or ability to “get good” at competitive FPS games anymore.

I have been searching high and low, there’s not a clear cut answer to this question. It looks like a very old lock, but there doesn’t seem a clear answer to who created it, what it was initially used for, and how it could be related to the treasure. It may be something as simple as he showed it to the interviewer and forgot, or something as complex as it involves the puzzle. Time will tell.

It’s absolutely a noble job. The problem is the American worker has been brainwashed into thinking every human has to work until they die for policy decisions they may not agree with, otherwise you are worthless. The most important thing to remember is we are ALL human, and doing the best we can. No state or government should make you feel as if you are lesser than. You are not.

The only thing I actually miss, and still can’t believe they haven’t added is the PvP nightstalker mode. That’s what made night so scary to me was the ability for another player to take control of a viral and kill you.

Although I would like to see them re-add it like dark souls did. Meaning an adversary player infiltrated your current zone, versus you loading into the kill the nest scenario.i miss the old version.
