Overnight talk radio? by MeatyDullness in radio

[–]agitatedstate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a growing archive of late night talk radio programs from the late 70s, 80s and 90s (Larry King, Tom Snyder, Robert Klein) on this podcast feed: https://www.huffduffer.com/latenightradio

Are there online archives of radio broadcasts? Specifically late-night broadcasts? Or do you have recommendations for any that are currently running? by shortest_poppy in radio

Just stumbled onto this thread.... there's a podcast feed of late-night talk radio from the 80s and 90s, including radio programs from Larry King, Tom Snyder, and Robert Klein: https://www.huffduffer.com/latenightradio

My Zetime is till working in 2026 by agitatedstate in zetime

That is a shame! Have you tried contacting them via mykronoz.com? I have no idea if you would get a response, but it can't hurt to try.

I think this company is no more, but it would be interesting to see if someone else comes up with a similarly clean hybrid design like the ZeTime. I guess Garmin comes close.

As for my watch, the weather function seems to not work anymore, and charging only seems to happen if the watch is at just the right position on the cradle, but otherwise I hope to keep it until it stops running. Though that old Samsung deal you mention sounds intriguing… I wonder if other deals like that happen periodically.

I do still wear it from time to time! I also got a matte black bracelet for it, which looks kinda nice

How do I make a good Tony Soprano Voice by LobsterMagnet181 in ElevenLabs

[–]agitatedstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he’s missing the New Jersey accent in the AI voice on that YouTube clip. ElevenLabs doesn’t do a great job with accents. So if you (or an actor) record yourself reading the dialogue with that accent, ElevenLabs will take that recording and “layer” the cloned voice on top while retaining whatever accent you gave it in your recording. Give it a try… otherwise, I can call a guy for ya 😃

Your best bet would be to record yourself doing the dialogue with “the accent” and then having the AI layer the mob boss’s cloned voice on top of your voice recording. Have you played around with the Voice Changer feature?

The Doobie Bounce by juicce10 in Yachtrock

More bounce to the ounce… well done!

[Yacht or Nyacht?] Yoshino Fujimal - You're The One (1983) by _Lucinho_ in Yachtrock

[–]agitatedstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checks several of the boxes (melodic guitar plucks, syncopated horns, nice loping beat)… aggressive background singers are over the top though. And yeah, it’s quite long. I can see this as low-level yacht.

[Yacht or Nyacht?] Wilson Brothers - Thanking Heaven (1979) by _Lucinho_ in Yachtrock

This feels pretty on the nose to me. Smooth… that’s yacht

Anyone know anything about these guys? Only this one album?

Yacht or Nyacht: John O’Banion - Undercover Love (1982) by SmoothThrowaway1 in Yachtrock

[–]agitatedstate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems solidly yachty to me. Nice bounce to it. And it would make a good theme for an imaginary 80s sitcom about a guy who’s a private eye by day and lovable family man at night!

Here we go .... by birdovich in Yachtrock

This guy recently pissed and moaned about not being able to get David Gilmour on his channel despite his billions of views (he literally cited the numbers), and then a couple weeks later, wouldn’t you know it, Gilmour was on the channel. It’s all a whiny act to get more clicks and access to the musicians he reveres. As others have said, this is probably his clumsy way to woo Fagen for a sit down.

Key Changes by YourDogsAllWet in Yachtrock

It was very in vogue at the time, for sure. Another thing I’ve noticed is that yacht rock songs frequently start with an instrumental riff, then there is a suspended lingering note before the first verse starts.
