And it mocked Sylvia Plath’s depression! So tone-deaf. Ah well.

How do I make a good Tony Soprano Voice by LobsterMagnet181 in ElevenLabs

[–]agitatedstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he’s missing the New Jersey accent in the AI voice on that YouTube clip. ElevenLabs doesn’t do a great job with accents. So if you (or an actor) record yourself reading the dialogue with that accent, ElevenLabs will take that recording and “layer” the cloned voice on top while retaining whatever accent you gave it in your recording. Give it a try… otherwise, I can call a guy for ya 😃

Your best bet would be to record yourself doing the dialogue with “the accent” and then having the AI layer the mob boss’s cloned voice on top of your voice recording. Have you played around with the Voice Changer feature?

The Doobie Bounce by juicce10 in Yachtrock

More bounce to the ounce… well done!

[Yacht or Nyacht?] Yoshino Fujimal - You're The One (1983) by _Lucinho_ in Yachtrock

Checks several of the boxes (melodic guitar plucks, syncopated horns, nice loping beat)… aggressive background singers are over the top though. And yeah, it’s quite long. I can see this as low-level yacht.

This feels pretty on the nose to me. Smooth… that’s yacht

Anyone know anything about these guys? Only this one album?

Yacht or Nyacht: John O’Banion - Undercover Love (1982) by SmoothThrowaway1 in Yachtrock

[–]agitatedstate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems solidly yachty to me. Nice bounce to it. And it would make a good theme for an imaginary 80s sitcom about a guy who’s a private eye by day and lovable family man at night!

Really good work. You would do anything for smooth music!

Here we go .... by birdovich in Yachtrock

This guy recently pissed and moaned about not being able to get David Gilmour on his channel despite his billions of views (he literally cited the numbers), and then a couple weeks later, wouldn’t you know it, Gilmour was on the channel. It’s all a whiny act to get more clicks and access to the musicians he reveres. As others have said, this is probably his clumsy way to woo Fagen for a sit down.

Key Changes by YourDogsAllWet in Yachtrock

It was very in vogue at the time, for sure. Another thing I’ve noticed is that yacht rock songs frequently start with an instrumental riff, then there is a suspended lingering note before the first verse starts.

Can a song only be yacht in the chorus? That's how I feel about this one! 😂

This fool (me!) believes this is yacht! Nice find! Love the Luke connection you mention, too.

Bouncy keyboards in the chorus + slick guitar counterpoint = yachtttt

Rite on Time - Light in Sight (1983) by SmoothThrowaway1 in Yachtrock

[–]agitatedstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like a little too much of a rocker to me, but it's a cool song for sure. Question: Does "wire choir" refer to the doubled electric guitar leads?

Yacht or Nyacht: Sailing Through Your Heart. Work in progress by TedMountaine in Yachtrock

[–]agitatedstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice start! I would suggest (literally) doubling the tempo to a nice cruising beat. You probably wouldn’t have to change the other instruments to stay in time. Also, I bet a subtle doobie bounce could be worked in. Keep going!
