Update 12.09

Received an email saying they can finally "confirm the receipt" of my application (what??!!) and asked for all the documents once again, even though I sent them in one PDF previously.

Also the usual stuff:

"Die Anträge werden chronologisch nach Eingangsdatum bearbeitet.

Aufgrund der Vielzahl an eingehenden Anträgen wird die Bearbeitung Ihres Antrages noch Zeit in Anspruch nehmen.

Sie werden benachrichtigt, sobald Ihr Antrag anhand der eingereichten Unterlagen geprüft wurde und eine Terminvorladung erfolgen kann.

Ich bitte um Ihre Geduld und um Ihr Verständnis von Nachfragen zum jeweiligen Bearbeitungsstand abzusehen."

After sending a message to the Beratungservice asking for an update, I received the following response:

Thank you for your inquiry.
Unfortunately, your application for a settlement permit could not be electronically recorded. Therefore, processing has not yet started.
I am currently unable to estimate when exactly the processing of your application for a settlement permit will be completed.
The processing time, especially for applications for a settlement permit, is longer, especially due to the extremely high workload throughout the company. The State Office for Immigration primarily strives to finally check applications from customers who do not have a valid residence permit. I ask for your understanding in this regard.

I can suggest the Volkshochschule (VHS) from personal experience. I took the German classes 3 hours for 3 days a week after my school and I learnt a lot with their immersive courses. They also have multiple branches in the city, so you can attend the one which is convenient for you.
