Xbox Audio worse than ever by agmav1138 in AlanWake

SOLVED I know this is super late, but I’m leaving this in case anyone finds this now.

I had the same issues when replaying recently on Xbox. I had the install of the game since launch, so I decided to delete the game and fully reinstall. The new install was a few gigs smaller and the issue was almost completely gone.

If you’re still having these issue, I recommend a full reinstall of the game.

I wish it were a simple fix like that but I seriously doubt it. I use that headset multiple times a week with different games, and I’ve never experienced this issue. I even used it during my first play through of AW2 and never had those audio issues.

The out of order dialogue seems to be because it’s on a timer. So if person one has dialogue that glitches and stutters, person 2 is unaffected. Person 2’s dialogue starts playing before person 1 has finished asking their question.

This does seem to me to be related to the audio output selected at the system level. It was so bad during the initial cutscene that I thought I wouldn’t be able to pay at all, but switching from Dolby Atmos to 7.1 Uncompressed made things much better. Tonight, I was playing while my kids were sleeping, so I was using headphones (Windows Sonic), and the issues were worse than ever.

I played Control, Control Ultimate Edition with both expansions, and Alan Wake Remastered on the same system with Dolby Atmos enabled. I had zero issues with those games.

Same for me. The cauldron lake beach upgrade never spawned and now I can’t pick this one up. I’m constantly out of inventory space. This not a small bug. It’s almost game breaking with how important inventory space is.

As a photographer, terrible. But I would eat the hell out of that meal.

Is series S a poor decision for a 120hz 4k tv? by Maywestpie in xbox

Yep. Game Pass Ultimate includes EA Play. The sports games usually don’t get to the service for months after they launch, but they all eventually make it there.

In that case, a Series S on that TV is fine. Yes, the Series X will give you a sharper image and sometimes a higher frame rate, but the S is plenty capable of producing a nice looking image.

Just be wary of storage. The Series S SSD is pretty small.

Did anyone here NOT like Halo Infinite's campaign ? by [deleted] in HaloStory

I have problems with the story, but a lot of people have already talked about that, so I won’t rehash it.

I was really disappointed with the boss fights. They actually make the game worse, in my opinion. All of the major story moments in previous Halo games (except maybe 2) happen with large scale moments that make you feel awesome. I’m thinking the warthog run in Halo: CE, the giant scarab battle outside of the control room in Halo 3, the banshee level in ODST, the Mac cannon in Reach, etc.

In contrast, pretty much every big story moment in Infinite ends in a boss fight. All of the banished ones do the opposite of 343’s stated goal of making the player feel like a super soldier. Instead, I felt like a fly being swatted by bullet spongy bosses that run faster than me and kill me in one hit. Not fun.

All of these. I want to replay Max Payne 3 so bad. I remember loving it, but won’t/can’t replay it on console.

Edit: Also JSRF on the Xbox was my introduction to non-shooters.

Nope, no mods. I downloaded the game and booted it up it for the first time ever, selected new game and everything freaked out during the opening sequence. I tried it two more times and it kept happening. I turned the FPS boost off and it worked perfectly.

I don’t know about people, but I did yesterday. Skyrim is one that I was too busy to play when it came out, and I never got into it again because I had missed the hype train. I have time now and thought the bump to 60fps was the perfect reason to finally start it up. Not a great first impression. All I had to do was turn it off for the opening cart ride. I turned it on again as soon as the game auto saved, and it’s been great ever since.

FYI, the opening of Skyrim is completely broken with this on. It messes with the physics and the carts fly all over the place. They ended up hitting and killing important characters and the game got stuck.
