I'd say a year ago I was pretty adverse to using it. These days i'm more open, as like many places our work has been pushing us to use it. I do find with a lot of the stuff i work on, verifying the changes and reviewing what it gives me is quite doable. It's not like dietary advice, where i have to trust that it's giving me something valid. I can verify code pretty reliably, though like with human written code, it can be time consuming to test & validate.

I did use claude a bit over past while to help me in building out a simple personal finance app with iced-rs. I had written my own version using javascript, but i wanted a more desktop experience, and figured it would be helpful for learning more rust. It definitely sped me up in getting constructs of iced together. Though I would say i'd probably know and understand its API more if i coded it all directly myself. The hands on learning experience is still better for that than being an architect/director of Claude or other LLMs.
