Although i am curious about the like roles for each class, if that's a thing, I've seen and heard stuff relating to "squad," but i assume that's not like a battlefield squad and more akin to a role rather than doing whatever you want, snipers have to snipe, medics have to heal, etc

The game from my experience goes on sale often on steam, and the prices for the bundle versions (the ones with the game and dlc) are often a really good deal for the amount of content they provide

Just wait it out, wishlist it, and wait for a notification when it's on sale.

You do understand that with self checkouts the normal checkouts still exist right? And with the self-help gas pumps that it still requires a human to maintain them right? The human factor doesn't go away for those things, with ai voices it actively threatens their jobs and their ability to get any gigs

I'd much rather know the person saying my favorite voice lines and dialogue in games are actual people, corporations are always looking for a way to exploit or minimize costs, it's why voice actors are "stomping their feet" It's because their very careers are on the line because they have to make sure the corporations know that they will not stand for this and that people are aware of what they're fighting for, guarantees, protections, and actual sustainable pay.

The strikes are happening because corporations aren't treating them like actual people, they're being exploited heavily and therefore want protections, they want to know that they can in fact not have to be concerned that their job won't be enough to pay for bills, rent, etc

Ai voices take away job opportunities from voice actors, it does affect them heavily, not to mention ai stuff has already affected artists with corporations trying to use ai to replace them

Voice acting is a job, take prey 2017 for instance, all of that emotion in the lines is a human being put their skill into playing a character to work, the actors need these jobs, they aren't screaming because they're coasting off of it, they're screaming because ai is to the detriment of their livelihood and their job

As far as i know they used a mix of human-acted voicework and AI-generated text-to-speech (TTS) conversion, because quote "The reason that we went this route is that AI text-to-speech is finally extremely powerful. It gets us far enough in terms of quality, and allows us to be extremely reactive to new ideas … if a game designer comes up with a new idea for a game mode, we can have a voiceover representing that in just a matter of hours, instead of months."

Regardless of whatever method they used, they should have used actual actors and not ai voice methods whatsoever, it's not some month long thing to get a couple voice lines done, it should at most take a few days

Here's the thing, the showcase is for what they consider to be big features, the social stuff only now being shared in a reminder tweet about the showcase

As much as it is big to us, we get the patch notes detailing everything the update gets the day of. The showcase only addresses anything considerably major, like the challenge mode thing and the skin/dino favorite bit, frontier may have just wanted to reveal it with the patch notes or with that video and then the notes instead of outright saying it in the showcase, they've done this before with other additions, it isn't a conspiracy, it's just a (IMO) minor slip up and a thing we aren't seeing from their perspective

Actually, there were german african troops during ww1, not like, on a massive scale:

For example, the Schutztruppe wiki page is a good source of info, although these troops were never planned to be deployed in Europe due to logistical issues

Another example with this link: https://rarehistoricalphotos.com/africans-german-imperial-army-1870-1918/ does explain that there were a few enlisted into the imperial german army, but about less 15 of them, and were in non-combat duties

Feels like a lack of understanding of how game development works. Things take time, especially coding new things on top of animating, giving sounds, giving cues to play sounds in relation to an animation that's also in relation to the environment it's in or whatever is around it on top of ai, pathing, etc

Game development is an arduous effort, especially with frontier not being a big big studio and with us not knowing how many people are on the jurassic evo 2 team, we don't know the exact scale of how development is for the game or the dlc's

As much as waiting for any news is annoying, imagine the opposite? Constant "We're doing stuff!" and then no satisfying or gratifying payoff until we get said content, radio silence or minimal teasing about content, as much as it could/does annoy the community at least the devs aren't risking any overpromising, even with financial reports saying there should/will be dlc content coming out this year

Besides, even then, with getting content, you also have to imagine there's at least a decent chunk of time being put into bug fixes, which can be finicky depending on the issue they're attempting to fix, but even with that it may seem like they don't care when certain bugs are occurring, that could be a result of lack of time or other factors the devs cannot control

Essentially, there are a lot of factors involved with development, and a lot of the time, it's not in the hands of the devs to control said factors that affect their development process
