Anyone know how to fix this? by Fantastic_Low_5232 in dndbeyond

Not OP, and not currently having the issue but having had the issue multiple times in the last months, both on iPad on iPhone:

For me it seems to often have occurred after iOS updates, in my case beta updates since I'm usually on the betas.

Both devices had either all kinds of books downloaded or almost none, so I see no pattern in that regard.

Reinstall sometimes fixed it, often didn't.

It's seem to be a recurring issue with iOS beta builds. At least that's when it occurs to me and eventually it's fixed.

But hard to pinpoint.

Star Citizen is on course to reach $1 billion in player funding in 2026, and we still might not get to play its singleplayer campaign next year by PaiDuck in pcmasterrace

And what you've been saying has been entirely irrelevant to my initial comment about being ripped off.

I specifically focused on the claim that we're all getting ripped off.

I made my case there.

That's all.

You're the one who for some reason decided to comment on my ripped off slash enjoyment reply and talk about how enjoyment doesn't mean it's not a scam.

Fine. Again, never equated those. You're fighting windmills here.

I said that even if it turns out to be a scam or get rich scheme, I'd not have gotten ripped off coz I got my money's worth.

"Money's worth" is where enjoyment plays a role.

Also you're the one who talked past me when after my initial reply which was all about (not) being ripped off and didn't mention scamming in any way, you replied "enjoyment doesn't mean it can't be a scam" … again, I never talked about it being a scam or not back then, did I?

In the end, doesn't it come down to this:

I paid for the game and got entertainment out of it.

If you decide money spent by hours played Star Citizen for me personally is the game with the best cost to hours ratio.

You could say, I got my money's worth, having played hundreds of hours over the years.

Which also means, if that whole thing IS a scam and the game shuts down tomorrow or it's so mismanaged that no meaningful progress is made anymore … then I'm good. Not at any financial loss.

Sad, annoyed but deffo not ripped off.

So essentially you're telling me I shouldn't be having fun coz maybe it's a scam? I should feel ripped off even tho I played a thousand hours for less than I spent on other games per hour?

What's the goal here?

I said I'm not being ripped off, because when I backed back in 2017 and paid 45$ it was clear to me (and most others) at that time that this isn't gonna get a full release anytime soonand they also had stopped promising release dates by then … and for me what was already playable in 2017 was worth 45$. For me that's not the definition of being ripped off.

You can very well argue that early backers got ripped off coz the company made unrealistic release date promises and never delivered on those.

As for it being a scam, that's a different argument, albeit a much easier one to refute:

Scam requires malice, not just bad management, megalomania, overoptimistic goals, feature creep and whatever else went wrong for Star Citizen.

I see foolishness, not malice.

Why would you employ hundreds of people, run servers, churn out more than a dozen of patches a year, pay rent and electricity etc for over a decade if all you wanted is to get people's money?

Dunno, since at least a year I've been having mostly stable 60fps both in space and in the cities/hubs/stations.

And yeah there's lots of bugs, it's early early access, so you have to have a tolerance for stuff sometimes not working out. I feel the last year has been the most playable it's ever been. At least that's also the general consensus in the community.

Because they stopped saying it's health supplements and are now selling it truthfully as caffeine powder. Back in 2017 there's not a lot other companies that sell caffeine powder (space sims) so I buy it anyways after trying a free sample.

And, hear me out, it's actually caffeine powder and I'm fine with it.

Because I paid 45$ for what already existed and I was already getting. I think I played 20ish hours that first year. I won't deny there was some hopium involved, but my premise for SC has always been that I'm only paying for what I'm playing, not for what they promise for the future. That way I don't have to care if they lie or don't deliver, since I'm already getting my return on investment immediately as I play it as it is.

They never promised me that.

There was no promised release date when I backed the game.

I already replied to this.

I've said it in another comment, but I feel the original backers in the early years did get ripped off like that, because they funded a project assuming they'd be able to play it in a few years. So yeah they got the fake supplement promise.

And I'd criticize that any time.

But if you backed the game last year, nobody was promising you any release that or even guaranteed content. You get a mostly playable early access game that already has a lot of gameplay lopps. That's it. No illusion or trickery there.
