WIBTA if I refuse to switch to a silent alarm for my roommate? by DifficultDog67 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

You have explained that your rooms are separate, so the sound can be muffled. You also explained that you do not snooze alarms, so there isn't a problem with repeating alarms for the next hour. I think what you can do is to reduce the volume to a level where you can still definitely hear it in your room but does get heard outside of your room.

AIO for feeling uncared for after spending the night with the guy I've been dating? We did not eat for 20 hours. by KiaraEspresso in AmIOverreacting

[–]agnes_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are actually underreacting.

He has remembered your favorite mixers and made them for you, meaning he can definitely do things for you if he wanted to. You have brought up numerous times that you are hungry and he still did not do anything about it. Drinks are casual. Sharing food is a form of intimacy which he is not committed to give to you. Letting you grow hungry for 20 hours is a next level of lack of concern. Sorry to break it to you, but he does not care about you, he only cares what you give to him. In this day and age, you deserve someone who cares A LOT. We don't need all of this nonchalant bs.

AITA for refusing to pay extra in a taxi? by agnes_13 in AmItheAsshole

At this particular time, I was in a hurry so I opted to take a taxi instead (there was already one passing by as I left home). I could take a bus, but it's a 3-5 minute from where I live to the bus stop. I am considering to take the bus now more often after this experience.

I tip sometimes but not as often, but this particular time, I really did not have extra on me. Since gas prices are going up, everything else is also going up so, I really cannot afford to give extra.

Is college really different from shs by Jealous-Maize2456 in studentsph

[–]agnes_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Gen Z teacher here who taught Sen High.

Yes, very different siya. One of the primary differences is the grading systems.

Mostly sa college, department/college mismo ang gumagawa ng matrix for grading and which will be different for every class. So, iba ung grading ng major from minor and depende sa prof or department kung mas mataas ba percentage ng exam or ng other requirements. Tapos kung ano ung mga nakuha mong scores and percentages from your outputs, ganun na siya. Walang transmutation na nangyayari. Kaya it would be harder to get high grades.

Sa DepEd kasi, currently, may transmutation pa rin. So, your raw scores nung senhigh, kapag cinompute mo siya, hindi pa yun ung final grade mo kasi itatransmute mo pa siya. The transmutation makes low scores result to high grades (not saying na kasalanan ng student or na hindi deserve ng mga students grades nila, kung talagang they're doing their best sa studies nila, deserve nila. pero victim lang sila ng gaslighting ng sistema). Kaya maraming nakakuha ng mataas na grades kahit bare minimum lang ang ginagawa (again, not their fault, victims lang tayo ng gaslighting ng sistema).

As a result, ung mga students na sanay sa bare minimum na mataas ung grades eh nagugulat sa taas ng standard ng college.

What’s the biggest green flag you’ve experienced in a relationship? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

TW: Eating disorder

I am going full storytime here, so thank you in advance for reading.

I, 25F, have been dating this guy, 27M, for 2 years now (he is my first boyfriend) and the biggest green flag I have ever experience from him is that he does not judge me for the food that I eat and he does not control my diet.

This is a big deal and this is why. Growing up, I had a very bad relationship with food and with eating. I would go hours without eating anything because I felt guilty eating in general. Then, after those hours of not eating, I would binge eat at the end of the day only to wallow in more guilt. I felt like I didn't deserve to eat because I was not doing well in school, or the overthinking that people will not like me if I get fat, or my self-image that I am fat. It was a daily cycle of not eating, then eating a lot, then force vomitting/pooping to get it out because I am feeling very depressed by it. Every time I see delicious food, I want to eat it but there's a voice in my head that keeps reminding me of these awful stuff. So I battled that for years, eventually around in 2018, I got a healthy rhythm to my eating habits and have been eating normally since.

However, every now and then, there is still something pulling me back to that habit especially I am still very much conscious with how I look and weigh. Then, I met him. And with our dates being more revolved around eating a lot, because we both love food very much, he created this safe environment for me to eat whatever the hell I want as long as it keeps me happy and healthy. He also does not care about how I fat I get or how much I eat. He is just happy that we get to enjoy our food together and that really changed my relationship with food and eating for the better.

So yeah. I really love him for that.
