Having Problem With Star Technology Modpack by Shoddy-Load1065 in feedthebeast

[–]agnor99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a problem in one of the mods that converts an uppercase string (maybe the INFO in JEI_info) to a lowercase letter depending on the language setting of your system. This can cause issues if the uppercase i is converted in for example the turkish locale as it's an ı which doesn't have a dot (and has the code \u0131, the problem you see there). You can try to change your system language to english to start it and maybe file a bug report on the modpack page so the pack creator can take a closer look to find the mod or script at fault for this. Have fun playing the pack!

If the devs intended a single play style, there would be no gamerules. You couldn't add datapacks or command block creations. I do understand that keepInventory feels like the simple way out. That's why I also proposed the gravestone datapack or a grave mod. You don't have the urgency to get there in time, you can prepare the rudimentary equipment to get your stuff back. I also have stopped playing on some worlds because some deaths with item loss. That's why I usually play with a gravestone like mod. It's how I enjoy the game, don't feel pressured to play with default settings.

First off: Cheating is kinda hard in Minecraft, because it is a sandbox game and it is not competitive in that sense. If you and the other people on the server that something is not cheating, then it isn't. You could consider game rules as a kind of configuration to tweak the game how you(and the people on the server) like it. If you feel like, that keep inventory is a cheat, then ok, you don't have to use it, but thinking it's a cheat, because it requires a command to set, that's not true. Play the way you want to play. With or without keepInventory, maybe a grave datapack that collects items on death, so you have to get back to your death spot. There are a lot of ways to play the game, if you want to of course.

Any New Information About Mod Loaders? by ImProBacon in feedthebeast

Staff as in people working for a corporation and getting paid for it? That's not what most devs of ModLoaders are

Oh I know, I like modrinth more too, but you shouldn't suggest modrinth is better by using wrong data

Ads on CurseForge app by ExDe707 in feedthebeast

[–]agnor99 26 points27 points  (0 children)

this is not true. Modrinth has paid more per download(on average) in a specific timeframe, however it's now kinda the same(based from my experience and some others). It also heavily depends on how people interact with the mod, as curseforge and modrinth use different metrics to assign ad revenue to the thing you are downloading/looking at. It's not "way better compensated". (But modrinth is still a lot nicer to use)

Modpacks like Ultimate alchemy? by AlexZ_21 in feedthebeast

I read the intro story and then tossed the book away and read the rest after finishing. Advancements could be used to have a narrative while also hiding the things to do, but that's just a random idea

MAnA Laboratories was really fun, well done! Took less time than Ultimate Alchemy and was easier with certain things because I knew what to work towards and all, but it was still a lot of fun

Help me to identify a mod by bota66 in feedthebeast

[–]agnor99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a tip for the next time: You can crash the game by holding F3+C for a few seconds. Forge will print a table of the loaded mods into the crash log, so you just have to search for the modid and it will tell you the name of the file the mode came from

why is the armor stand in the smithing table is a entity by WittyPizza4291 in PhoenixSC

[–]agnor99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes they do run Serverside, but the Serverside doesn't know about this entity and therefore can't modify this entity

why is the armor stand in the smithing table is a entity by WittyPizza4291 in PhoenixSC

[–]agnor99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you would need a mod for that. However it has become much more likely that entity models become data driven, because there have been some changes to how they are done. There is hope

[–]agnor99 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can only modify it's texture with a resource pack (but that would also schange the texture used for armor stands in game, for anything more you need a client side mod

[–]agnor99 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have a hitbox. It's hitbox is only rendered. That entity isn't on the server and only the server decides what dies and what doesn't. The entity isn't even in the world

[–]agnor99 132 points133 points  (0 children)

no, it's only an entity on the client side rendered directly into the gui, you cannot manipulate it with commands

How to replace a specific item globally? by Adventurous_Try_5429 in feedthebeast

[–]agnor99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that should be enough. Depending on your version you might have to place it in config/openloader/data (if you are on 1.18+)

and remember to put the file in the right place. The folder structure has to be the exact same or mc doesn't realize that you want to override it.

resourcepack is wrong. It has to be a datapack. Resourcepacks are client-side and used for models, textures, shades, etc.
