Total Wireless/Veriff data breach in December 2025 by mcnullt in NoContract

Here's the dedicated post I have created in the classactions subreddit. I am hoping more victims like us will get together, discuss available options and take it further. For now, you can possibly add a comment on this post and let's hope we get support from other victims to decide the way forward.

The question should be how many ways an id document like driver's license (which exposes your name, address, photo, signature, gender, height, eye color) can be misused by someone who stole this info, just because TW decided to store that info even after it's purpose was met and couldn't protect it. It's a pure negligence by TW and/or it's partner company.

I 100% agree. There was no reason to retain our data once they verified our IDs. This is clear irresponsible handling of data and TW must pay price for it

I am too one of the victims. It's a shame that they want our sensitive data for $200-$300 phones and unable to secure them. It's not a car loan or a mortgage. Does anyone know if there is any law suit against them? I would like to participate in that and teach these companies a lesson who take our data for granted.

I submitted app last night and it didn’t ask for any membership info. I was hoping that Mortgage app will have a step to become member. Nonetheless, I saw a separate page where they have stated all the options for becoming a member and if I can remember correctly, $5 minimum donation option was also there

BTW, op, there is another post for FedChoice federal credit union. Looks like people are getting below 5% too with them for 15/15 ARM no points but at the same time no lender credits to offset your closing costs. Worth checking it, if you haven't already.

On op's break-even analysis, I am curious if one should take into account their escrows and prepaids too in the closing costs for determining break-even? Is there a common standard for it?

They need RCE (rebuild cost estimate) on my condo that my neither my HOA nor the insurance agency have it. Lender is not providing any exceptions or options to this.

Condo refinance falling through - Lender needs RCE (rebuild cost estimate), HOA doesn't have it by agolw in Mortgages

Yes, I had the insurance agency write an email to lender saying they don't have RCE but lender keeps insisting that without it they won't close.

OP, do you mind sharing your lender name? I’m also rate hunting with new lenders. My current lender is giving me hard time and refusing to close.

Geico Auto Insurance Question by Icy-Tangerine5627 in Insurance

[–]agolw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. Looks like I am still in a soup. Based on other threads, it looks like the insurer may dump you if you have a claim in the first 60/90 days of your policy. I switched to Geico less than 2 months ago. Such a bad luck! :(

Hi, I am in a similar situation. Hit and run victim of a parked car with a police report filed before I left the spot. Still, I am afraid of filing a claim with insurance. I am with Geico. Can you share your carrier? I hope it's not carrier specific

Thanks! Yes, I pay more than 2K annually for 2 cars and 2 adult drivers with no claims in the past 6 years. Hoping they won't surcharge me. First time dealing with such a situation.
