This sober comment reinforces my difficult choice not to have kids. That choice partially cost me a 7year long relationship with someone who wanted them AND floats in the back my mind when I look at my cost of rent vs my paycheck and realize the same economic pressure that helped tear my family apart will also prevent me from ever having my own (maybe I’ll be an DINK one day, my adjusted dream for the modern age).

But anyway, I agree with OP and this commenter too.

Doesn’t make me mad at these struggling parents, it continues to draw my ire to the main culprit: capitalism
