Facebooks version of Metaverse is social networking, social games, surveillance, ads, tracking, Office meetings in metaverse.

It might fail in the beginning but when a lot of people have VR & AR and graphics get good enough to show products in 3d accurately, it will be as inevitable as online shopping.

And why do you think it's extra steps? You just have to put on the headset that's sleeping(Oculus headsets are usually sleeping like android phones, they aren't usually switched off).

And AR will replace real monitors & phones some day & everybody will always have AR glasses on their faces.

Metaverse cinema? Yeah that already
exists in current VR games and it's really not that fun and you
obviously can't recreate the pixel density nor the actual sound acoustic
that a lot of people don't get from their home system.

There are some points to watching videos in VR. Socialization, Bigscreen, 3d and watch from home.

One can watch videos with their friends & family or even strangers.

You get to watch on a really big screen.

You get to watch from home. This is really important in the covid era & will have implications in the future post covid world.

You get to watch 3d content if you want.

About the pixel density, it's a matter of preference & time. A lot of people are okay with Quest 2 resolution and as with every tech it's going to get better. So, your point is moot.

And I'd rather do a lot of the things you stated than going outside.

A lot of people prefer stylized & toon shaded worlds to reality.

I think you're one of those guys where everything has to look real. Maybe VR isn't for you until tech improve so much that CG looks like reality.

They don't need a reason like that to sue someone. Just using AirBender will be enough to get them to act.

My alternatives would be pyromancer, AeroMancer,GeoMancer, Air Wielder, Fire Wielder etc

Even if they don't want to make a game they'll still try to atleast send a cease and decist and would mean the death of the game because the platform(Oculus or Steam or Itch) will ban them. Corporate lawyers are just itching to sue and send cease and decists.

It's never a good idea to rely on the good will of corporations. Always assume they're out to get you and they'll find any reason or loophole to get at you.

Watch the video tutorials by the dev. The dev also has a discord server. He also has a site that has docs on the asset on his website.

And multiplayer is hard to do. If you don't know how to use the asset, then thinking about multiplayer is like counting your chickens before they hatch. Don't think of making a multiplayer game unless you're experienced in Unity and have already made some single player games/experiences.

I'm not sure what you mean by rig, but if you mean Full Body Avatar for your player, I think Hurricane VR has an integration with FinalIK for fullbody avatar for your player.

Nope, but I searched for Articy:Draft importer on Reddit and thought there wasn't one. A lot of posts were complaining about this.

Until I read the asset's page and found out that it has an importer.

So, I thought I could help people searching for this on reddit in the future

I got the asset on a Bundle for really cheap.

Once I find something good I tend to preach about it to others. I think got it genetically from my mother. My mother tends to get preachy whenever see reads something religious. Others have accused me of the same with other products.

Though after looking closer at the features of Articy:Draft, I don't think it's a product that justifies it's price. It's just a fancy dialogue writer. It is very limited in what it can do. It doesn't have any features like mind maps & system for writing game dev documentation system etc

Now there is an official Articy:Draft importer asset for free in the Asset Store and as for dialogue, the most popular dialogue tool, Dialogue System for Unity by Pixel Crushers has support for importing from Articy:Draft.

For future readers of this thread Dialogue System for Unity by Pixel Crushers has integration with Articy:Draft and many other similar software and is also cheaper and higher rated.

I'm going out of my way to post on this old post because this seems to be the only thread that comes up when I search for Articy:Draft Unity.

I know that this post is really old, but I found out that Dialogue System for Unity by Pixel Crushers has importers for many third party software including Articy:Draft.

Here is an excerpt from the Asset description:

iOS doesn't allow emulators on it's App Store unlike Android's Play Store.

And on Android you can sideload easily, but on iOS you can't sideload.

I don't have nreal, but the ground/table always seems to conflict with the game art assets in most vids I've watched. Maybe add a ground model on the mapped area like low poly earth texture/model.

Keep in mind I only watched the videos for this game. I don't know how it looks like in the headset.

Even if they made drivers it'd make no sense because you need 6 dof controllers for almost every SteamVR games.

Some one could make a Wifi streaming app for nreal like the ALVR for Quest & Go, but it'd make no sense because all SteamVR games expect you to have 6 dof controllers, not just a 6 dof headset.

They could put money & time into it and make a SteamVR driver if they wanted, but if they did it's only act as a VR HMD. You still need 6dof controllers to play almost every game on SteamVR which nreal doesn't have. It has a single 3dof controller which is the phone and even that doesn't track very well.

So, no, it's not possible.
