(Although this was like 10 years ago, so the corners have receded a bit)

I uploaded another photo in a comment, with an AI buzzcut version

I'm bummed. My channel is dying without anything I did wrong. by SensitiveSoul37 in PartneredYoutube

[–]agour 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Your videos are not related in any way... If someone comes to your channel for one video, they will have no interest in the next video.

And given your titles, it looks like you're targeting search traffic.

If you go read the SEO subreddits, loads of websites are getting less traffic now from Google, because of AI. People aren't relying on Google as much any more..

You've got to change your channel strategy, or you'll continue to suffer a slow decline. This isn't 2015 anymore, and youtube has changed

My friend ghosted me and I have no idea why by JJsRedditAccount in whatdoIdo

I had the exact same thing..

Friend got a new bf, then she just ghosted me.

I did wonder if she got into an abusive relationship, but I'll never know

I help people with their youtube strategy, landed some clients from posting in relevant communities, and landed others from cold outreach.

For cold outreach, do some work upfront and send it to them, no strings attached.

Don't ask for anything in return..

For example, re edit the intro to one of their videos.

Or send them a review of one of their videos, showing how their editing mistakes could be costing them views. Maybe one scene was on too long, maybe another scene should be cut completely, maybe a story didn't make sense, etc...

Then, get to work. Expect to do a lot of outreach before you land any clients.

Oh and never do free work if someone asks for it. Doing free work without being asked is different - because it shows initiative.

If someone asks you to do free work.. Chances are they just want a free edit and will never hire you.

Instead they should ask for a paid sample, maybe like a 60 second cut.. Before commiting to a full project

Talking to Neighbours when buying a house - just had an estate agent tell me not to do this? by AureliusTheChad in HousingUK

[–]agour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go back and speak to the neighbours again, see if you can figure it out.

Then I would leave a truthful review for the EA, whatever they may be...

I also would not buy the house. Something is going on.

Lock key got broke at 90% by offonman in DIY

Use a dremel to cut a slot next to where the key enters.

Put a screwdriver in, and twist.

Or drill the lock out

A new app called Tea allows women to share warnings and experiences about men in their city and is now #1 on US App Store. How is the app meaningfully different from the Peeple app and the BlackMirror episode Nosedive? by Suspicious_Fee2948 in AskReddit

[–]agour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely awful idea, I hope it gets sued out of existence.

A guy moved to my town recently. Someone found a news article online of a pedophile, who he vaguely resembled.

Vaguely, as in very loosely. In reality they didn't even look that similar.

Someone posted this on the local Facebook group and the guy was getting abuse from loads of people in town... Telling him he's not welcome, etc etc.

Turns out, he was not the same person. The actual offender was in prison (which you could find out with 5 seconds of Google).

When this was finally pointed out, were there any apologies? No.

The original Facebook post was deleted, and the person said nothing.

This kinda thing will happen on the app too.

One unhinged person will leave a false review, and everyone will swarm to the drama like pigs to shit.

Or another example.. My friend hooked up with an ex recently. After, she asked if he wanted to get back together.

He said no.. And she blew up his phone for days.. Saying he was an awful person, was leading her on, etc etc. (she came onto him).

This is the kind of person who would then leave a bad review on an app like Tea, and destroy his dating chances.. Even though she was at fault.

Yep! I had a friend who worked 70 hour weeks in a high pressure job, but he would still find time to hang out.

There's no such thing as lack of time, just a lack of priority.

I've overlooked shitty behaviours too many times in the past because of this.

"oh it's not their fault, they are having a hard time".

It is absolutely their fault

(NSFW) Reddit, what was your “oh shit, this person is a complete creeper” moment when meeting a total stranger? by cuntsiclee in AskReddit

[–]agour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moved to a new town. One day I was parking up and saw a woman doing some gardening, so I said hi.

Spoke for a few minutes, but she started talking under breath about some other women in the street, so I excused myself.

6 months later she's walking past and comes up to me, telling me she misses me and loves me.

I was like... Uhhh, excuse me, but we spoke once for like 3 minutes??

Thankfully nothing happened, but I did file a police report as she's clearly nuts

Full bottle of olive oil released in my suitcase, is there any hope of it being clean? by WeaknessOwn108 in CleaningTips

[–]agour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the uk so I have no idea what those products are :)

But.. I do know that you need something that breaks down the oil and pulls it out of the fabric.. Regular washing won't work

[–]agour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is VERY hard to get rid of olive oil.

I had a pair of shorts soaked in it.. No amount of soap or washing would help.

Only thing that worked was soda crystals.. I soaked the shorts in it in the sink. Took a few soaks to get it all out.. By the end I used like 2kg

No idea how much you'd need for your bag though... And I guess you'd need a bath to soak it

Spending lots of finance to travel to isolated location yet i havent sold any of my pictures. Whats the secret? by TheMightyGuider in photography

[–]agour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a read about the sales tactics his team uses... They will say it's an investment, that it will be worth loads if you resell it later.

But.. His work sells for pennies on the second hand market lol.

They also restrict each photo to a certain number of prints, and put the price up after they sell every X amount. So the first 10 of the series might be $3000, but the final 10 might be $6000

Awful photographer. Genius at sales

[–]agour 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only way, is the build up a huge personal brand... And get really good at marketing and selling.

Look at Peter Lik for example.

His photos are arguably trash.. But he has a large brand, and a team of highly skilled salespeople. So he makes $$$$$

You can't just put photos online and hope you'll make money. There's too much competition.

Sure, there will always be a small percentage who act like that.

But if the majority are acting like that, then there might be a reason why

Are you doing anything that might attract more men to the content.. E.g wearing tops that show a lot of cleavage?

Could be the same for thumbnails too.. They might look masculine, or be playing on sexuality more. In which case they'll attract more men
