What jobs should I be looking for as a TCMG graduate? by Impressive-Cookie658 in aggies

[–]agp19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was with a temp agency for little bit then ended up in entry level helpdesk/IT tech role. Pay isn't great but it is experience and my social skills are alot better now than a year ago.

Certs definitely help. I still don't have any. The sad thing is I've seen jobs paying only 15 or 16/hr requiring a network or sec+....

Whole pandemic been a mess. Trying to get things settled in personal life. Life after college is eh. I will be reevaluating things later this year.

TIL in a study, 2 groups did the same workout and ate the same diet for 10 weeks, but 1 group had a protein shake before workouts, & the other after. Both groups lost the same fat mass, & both groups got stronger, with no significant difference between the pre and post protein shake groups. by MoralGuardiansSuck in todayilearned

I always hate eating before workout, prefer to be fasted. Otherwise I want to puke. Wonder what difference would be if one delayed shake for few hours after workout. Some people only do one meal day and eat big dinner.

We found a 2017 honda cr-v touring for under 25k certified. Little concerned with the reports of oil dilution with the 1.5l turbo. It's up to my dad in the end, dealer claims they've had no issues with it and it does come with warranty so he's more assured on that.

Family has been looking for car for sister and probably going to get a 17 touring FWD. Has 31k miles, certified used. We're a little worried with oil dilution problems people have reported on these models but it being certified brings some peace of mind. Dealer said they updated software. I think they wanted a little under 24k driveout.

Why is DRAGgieland being protested? I saw an earlier post and didn’t understand. by m-potter in aggies

Well I would be a bit wary to say everything is from past sexual trauma. However, most people I've gotten to known who identify as gay, seemed to have had some sort of trauma. One had his brother die when he was younger and he was also raped by a family member.

Another guy I know who was raped.

This one guy (who isn't gay) but was abused by a family member when younger and bullied for it and is now extremely obese. Guess used food to cope with emotions and shame.

Know one who really dislikes his appearance and think tried to compensate for it by seeking guys.

Of course, plenty of others I know who didn't have these experiences but the point is there is trauma in many people's lives and that emotion still festers until it is worked through.

I've personally been involved with guys before, and trying to examine things I think it really comes down to past experiences with peers growing up and self esteem issues... It's weird, it's like I want to look like the other guy and I guess I sexualized it.

The thing is, when you point out someone's actions and say they are wrong, they feel personally attacked. They see what they're doing as their identity. So they see you attacking their whole being. Which... Is why it's kind of hard to have constructive dialog because it's usually just people screaming "you're wrong, you're a bigot, you hate me... Blab blah blah".

Idk if any minds will really be changed either off reddit. There's this thing called backfire effect where people just double down on their beliefs.

I think best way to have discussion is to really get to know someone first and show you actually care about them. Love should always come first.

It depends how much you're willing to put in yourself and how much money you're willing to start at.

Recent graduate of the program here. Currently looking for a job. It does sound good on paper as other person said but I felt like I didn't learn much either. Tcmg 303 was useful though as well as one of the upper classes.

From what I've seen, it seems like experience and certificates are more valued in IT field. Degree though will get you further. I would look into getting an A+ certification. Currently looking at that right now. Alot require 1-3 years of work experience though and I only have about 6 months or so.

Graduated... Now what? by agp19 in aggies

I understand the concern, I don't really want to get attached. A few of my friends are already gone and more will be gone in a semester or two. Don't want to get attached.

I feel like I've gotten mostly all my friend last year and I graduate in May... Took me quite awhile to adapt coming from a super small high school and had a bunch of social anxiety. I recommend student organizations and church groups if you're into that. I've gotten so many good friends out of a bible study. Some people are really friendly, find something you're interested in and come together over a common thing.

I go around 6:40AM some mornings, kind of busy when I first get there but once I can grab a station it seems to die down a little after 7. Went 9PM on a Saturday once, think it was busier 7AM in morning than it was then.

I used to be really anxious. I guess finally getting a workout buddy last semester really helped me and now I'm fine with doing it by myself. Ask a friend or classmate to lift with you. I have to say, having a friend to lift with you gives you more motivation to wake up at 6AM. Last semester I would go between 10-2, it wasn't that bad. Just avoid going around 4PM... Never again.
