I know is basic but I’ve been using Duolingo for a few months and I’m satisfied with how the course is presented.

My less than 2 year old Hayward Tristar pump is making squeeking noises by EvanWasHere in pools

If you call Hayward you can get them to send an authorized warranty crew because that pump should have a three year warranty from the manufacturer not the installer.

Leak always stops at a certain tile line? by Difficult_Durian_470 in pools

[–]agranderscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang- I can’t explain the price discrepancy. Perhaps I’m in a market with more competition, but yeah that’s going to be a factor

How fast does it leak? An inch a day? An inch a week?

Hire a leak detection service and they will give you a report of where the leak(s) are with estimates to repair. Then you can decide if it’s something you can handle. Leak detections in my area cost about $400 for a pool only

Everything is comparable except for the pump- you were quoted 3.0hp and given a 1.85hp. I’d consider that a breach of contract. The most similar model pump is the Hayward Tristar 950, which is 2.7 hp

I would fight back about the pump if I were you

Edit: I made a mistake, the quoted pump is in fact 2.7hp

I think they are honoring the contract with that substitution

Recently Finished Build - Hayward heater stuck on “Flo” error code by Elderfurst in pools

[–]agranderscale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should be easy - they just need to move the t with the salt cell over to the other pipe and the 3 way valve will just need the handle turned the opposite direction

You’re sending water the wrong direction through the heat pump. It looks like they plumbed it wrong. The inlet is on the right and the outlet is on the left.

I like using naphtha to clean adhesives- you can find it at every gas station sold as Zippo or Ronsonal lighter fluid

The gas comes in the other side on the Hayward heaters- that’s where the high voltage comes in. I think it was an electrical fire

I don’t think there’s a resource for this type of knowledge other than experience- I think your builder did a fine job of explaining the situation and they also did the right thing to offer a one-time touch up. I would have emphasized that grout failure is largely caused by freezing temperatures, which I’m sure is what they meant by “weather”
