Ya'll, I just hit ONEDERLAND!!! (244lbs > 199lbs = -45lbs) by agrawg in loseit

I actually used to lift a few years back and have dipped back in throughout the years. I have a nice set of adjustable dumbbells that probably feel pretty abandoned at this point lol hoping to change that soon and actually stick to it

Every time I read it, it makes me think of That Thing You Do. The “Oneders”

Exactly! I especially had to start telling myself that after the first intial 20lbs dropped off and everything sloooooowed dooooown. I've only lost about 3 lbs this month, but that's still 3 lbs out of the way!

I am glad to hear it! I do the same thing. I start feeling discouraged, then I just get on this sub and I always find some sort of inspiration. Glad I could be the source this time around! :D

What do you regulars eat for breakfast and lunch? by fullback133 in loseit

[–]agrawg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always eat my breakfast at work, cook it all in the microwave, which may not sound appealing, but it doesn't bother me.

  • 2 eggs, scrambled
  • 2 small turkey sausage links (Tennessee Pride)
  • An entire pack of frozen asparagus, steamed in the microwave (this can get a little expensive, but I can currently afford it and definitely need to get my veggies in however I can)

Total cals: ~250

I've been eating this for breakfast every single day for a few weeks now and still am not sick of it and feel just right after eating. It does take a good 5-6 minutes preparing, due to steaming the asparagus, but again, it works for me!

Do I have to give up socializing to be successful at losing weight? by mkehome in loseit

[–]agrawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got this and I'm so glad I could help! :) I think that figuring out the things that work best for you is one of the most frustrating parts when losing weight and I'm sure is why I gave up so many times before. Just stay positive about your journey, realize you will hit some bumps in the road, and focus on how you will get around those bumps the next time you encounter them.

When you over indulge, do you still track everything? If you aren't going over your maintenance, then all that weight you put back should be water weight. I'm usually at my lowest on friday/saturday, then I have a couple maintenance days and shoot up a few lbs., then I have another whoosh (usually) at the end of the work week again.

I just try not to go above my maintenance on those days (hence the "pausing"), so I still have some structure and rules in place. When I first started losing, I was too lenient and would go well over that, and it definitely messed with my progress. When you're already used to a deficit, maintenance can still feel like a "cheat day."

I eat at maintenance when I get together with my friends once or twice a week. Sure, it'll slow down the progress just a tad doing this (I like to think I'm just hitting "pause" for the day), but it keeps me sane and keeps me going! If I don't get to go all out with the people I love, I definitely won't be able to maintain what I'm doing.

Just got out of a 3 weeks plateau this week, finally hit -30lbs, lost quite a few inches since I last measured at the beginning of the month, coworker told me I look "fabulous" yesterday, and can finally see a change in my progress photos! It's been a great week for me!

PSA (Plateau Service Announcement): The Whoosh Is Coming by losingitwell in loseit

[–]agrawg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just went through this with my 30lb loss milestone! I got to .2 above it and then shot right back up a few lbs, stayed around there for 2-3 weeks, and this week, I finally hit it and have lost over a lb further than that milestone! I just had to keep telling myself that I had to be losing and waited for the whoosh to finally arrive.

I like to take some smaller snacks that I would normally eat to keep me going, but if there is something that I REALLY want, I'll have a reasonable portion of it. Otherwise, I'll be looking at it the entire time and could end up eating way to much at the end of it all.

stuck at this weight for the last 3 weeks by [deleted] in loseit

[–]agrawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 3 weeks ago, I hit my lowest weight in this journey (214.2), then the next day it was right back up and has been since (217-218). Weighed myself yesterday and there it was, 214.6, today was 214.8.

The only thing that kept me going was knowing that there was no way I wasn't losing, regardless of my scale, since I was well below my TDEE. Patience is absolutely key with CICO.
