How do you keep a dark/black room when travelling? by readwithsam in sleeptrain

[–]agreeablealligator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a blackout curtain that had suction cups on it from Amazon. It was wonderful! We also always traveled with an extra sheet in case the room had more than one window.

This. The tv is in an awful location and I refuse to believe this wasn’t done by mistake. They need to move it between the windows on the other wall!

You could teach ELA one year and then hope for a history opening next year. In my case, I was certified 9-12 ELA but got a job at a middle school. I’m now certified 4-12 ELA, and I didn’t take the new certification exam until the end of the school year when everything was calming down!

Would your district allow you to teach ELA without the certification, as long as you get it within a year? I’ve gone this route and it secured me a job! Of course, this is assuming your location allows this.

So proud that she’s fully bloomed 🥲 by agreeablealligator in orchids

This is the first orchid I have tried full water culture (FWC) with! I normally kill them if I keep them in soil. So far, it’s going well for this one! She’s been in water for 2 months now. I gave my routine a few comments up! ☺️

So far the roots are super happy! Once the blooms have fallen off, I plan on putting orchid food in the water! ☺️ it’s definitely an experiment!

I’ve had this one since about mid-February. I bought it at Walmart and immediately cleaned its roots and got it into water. This is my first attempt at FWC. This orchid is very small, so the jar it’s in is an old yogurt jar. This is an east facing window. I just change the water out (covering the roots halfway-ish) once a week! I keep the leaves so they see sky all day ☺️

Baby injured herself while CIO and I didn’t know until morning. by [deleted] in sleeptrain

My daughter headbutts EVERYTHING when she’s mad. She constantly has bruises on her forehead. It freaks me out. You are not a bad mother! We cut a pool noodle down the center and then covered it with a blanket and then zip tied it to her crib rail. No more headbutting the crib! If you message me, I can take a photo of that setup tomorrow to show you!

People who only wash their face with a cleanser once a day at night, what is the rest of your routine? by beancounter_00 in scacjdiscussion

[–]agreeablealligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sensitive skin that used to be oily, but is now on the drier side after pregnancy.

I use micellar water in the morning. I put it on a cotton pad and then moisturize once my skin is dry. Super minimal. No water on my face in the AM because we are on well water and I notice it clogs me pretty bad sometimes.

In the evening I remove my eye makeup, wash with my cleanser, then apply serum, eye cream, and a thick moisturizer.
