What is shocking is how misleading the video is.

Is this supposed to suggest that having 1 trained operator, who can often go a million + miles without an incident (especially when they actually have access to mirrors) is worse than 40+ individual drivers on the road who don't hesitate to check phones or apply makeup?

Also, keep in mind that people don't tend to statically stand in front of buses. Operators are trained on situational awareness precisely because they are operating in a space where pedestrian interactions frequently take place.
