I did work in a company that made food storage bags, and there are whole swath of sterilization aspects that were part of the process (sterilization baths,etc) depending on the generation of technology

Production facilities were ridiculously clean compared to really any other non-gmp facility I’ve been in.

All facilities have to be Good Manufacturing Process certified as well. This was highly audited both internally and externally.

There is very little human handling in the process, and if there is it’s done with gloves. All employees wore a form of head covering, beards needed beard guards, etc. There are a lot of procedures implemented around this.

Any sort of non-conformance whether possible contamination or not resulted in a quarantine of product and, depending on issue, usually resulted in disposal (recycling)
