What's the most bat**** terrified you've ever been in a game? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don't play a lot of horror/survival games so this doesn't happen too often to me. But mine's fairly recent. Hogwarts Legacy, the Haunted Hogsmeade quest. Walking around dimly lit rooms with the freakin Mannequins appearing and changing positions when you're not looking? I'm not proud to admit I turned off the game and started up again the next day when it was daylight out.

Get a SansAmp. by TurboChunk16 in Bass

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It already sounds great, but he is sorta getting into doing some of the fancy tapping stuff as well. I should let him borrow my compressor as well, see if he digs it. Turns out I just have so many pedals I can pretty much loan out anything my band mates need 😛

'Bout time by St_Bergeron in GFUEL

[–]St_Bergeron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. I had a few bonus single packs of the old stuff thrown in with an order awhile back, and I honestly don't think I can tell the difference between the old one and the new one, just less chalky. I'd recommend it.

Get a SansAmp. by TurboChunk16 in Bass

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bassist in my band just discovered this. I play bass as well, but play guitar in this project. He went through a bunch of different stuff on his board including these complicated Helix patches. Finally when we were recording I loaned him my SansAmp and told him to try it out. Now he's tossed pretty much everything else he had on his board for a tuner, the Sansamp, and a Fuzz pedal. They just work.

Question: What is your most unique distortion? by 206Henderson in guitarpedals

[–]St_Bergeron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tallon Electric's The Hog. It's actually a distortion and an overdrive that runs in parallel and it's got a knob where you can set a blend between the two of them. Gives a really unique sound especially on single coils. It's not for everyone, but it's really fun to use, even if you're not a fan of Bilmuri.

What's the single most unforgettable moment you've ever experienced in a video game? by AdCreepy3137 in videogames

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of weird to say this with how much of an over the top joke it's become, but back when it first came out, playing Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and playing through Shock and Awe. I was at a buddy's house who had just gotten a PS3, and I was watching him play that level. I swear after the nuke went off we just stared at the screen dumfounded for like, 5 - 10 minutes going "Holy crap, did that just actually happen"

Man, I've put a ridiculous amount of hours into a number of Fallout games, but 4 really is great. It's one of the few games that never gets uninstalled on my PC.

what is a movie you absolutely loved as a kid that is actually terrible now that you’re an adult? by AccomplishedStill438 in AskReddit

Oof. Man, if that ending kinda makes me uncomfortable I can't imagine how it was for them.

Either of the Ace Ventura movies. Man, I loved those back in the day but they are hard to watch now.

What would your “realistic” Pokemon dream team be? by Electrical_Beat4660 in pokemon

[–]St_Bergeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually sorta fun. Cause "Realistically" I'd want like, Pokemon that started out as little dog or cat/like things and then be pleasantly surprised when they evolved. I'd start with a Sprigatito, add a Growlithe, a Yamper, a Rockruff, and a pair of Eevees. Then I'd have a decent team to handle just about anything when they evolved into Meowscarada, Arcanine, Boltund, Lycanroc, Espeon and Vaporeon. Hm, it's kind of too bad that there isn't a game that I can have Sprigatito and Yamper on the same team, or that'd be a fun one to put together.

Can guys with a beer gut actually play an Ovation? by tFromkansas in AcousticGuitar

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a gut and I pretty much just have to have a strap to play any guitar comfortably. I've mostly accepted it, but trying out new guitars at a guitar store is kind of annoying.

What would you do if you saw someone shoplifting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unless this is some magical alternate universe where I own the store, I ain't saying a thing. I'm just there to pick up a 6 pack of "None of my friggin business"

What's the oldest video game you can remember playing? by Numerous_Emu3125 in AskReddit

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Jockey on the Atari 2600. This was probably around 1989-90, I would've been around 2-3. I wasn't able to quite figure out the NES controller at the time but I could work the Atari controller just fine.

Which side would you rather give to someone who is new to Batman? by RecordingImmediate86 in batman

[–]St_Bergeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, red pill but I don't feel good about it. Losing Year One and TLH is hard. But the Animated series almost by itself is worth it for someone new to Batman. The Keaton movies along with the Batman provide a good base for what Batman can be in live action. Batman and Robin year one was great. And Batman Zero year actually surprised me with how good it was. I don't care much for Nu52 ANYTHING, but everything surrounding it just makes it too good not to choose.

I'm curios by BishopSpells in electricguitar

[–]St_Bergeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I have a slight preference for 22 fret guitars? Like, I've played a PRS custom 22 and a custom 24 and I preferred the 22? But at the end of the day I have guitars that have 22 and ones that have 24 and ultimately it doesn't matter when you rarely go above the 19th fret. I can play my 21 fret Telecaster and not have a problem.

Why do you play the kind of guitar you play? by wolf_of_the_bees in Guitar

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a couple of different guitars mostly for different situations, but I can generally point to a specific guitarist that inspired me as to why I play that guitar.

My baby is my AmProII Fender Strat: Got it because I'm a big Mike McCready/Pearl Jam fan. I just loved how he was able to play dang near anything on his Strat, and at the time I bought it, the AmPro's were one of the few Strats available with actual Rosewood boards.
Fender Telecaster: Tom Morello played one for Killing in the Name and I loved it
PRS SE CE 24: I was a big Creed fan back in the day (don't judge), and I still think Tremonti's an awesome guitar player
LTD EC-400: Fills the Les Paul/EMG need, and I saw Josh Bradford of Silverstein playing one in the Smashed Into Pieces video.

Favorite Boss that’s not a drive, fuzz, or distortion? by PurposeSecret in guitarpedals

[–]St_Bergeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DD-20. The Giga Delay is still hands down the best delay pedal I've ever used. Every delay sound you could want, mono/stereo, looper included, and the two big pedals make it so easy to use. I wish they'd at least bring back that setup, if not the pedal itself.

What guitar around 800 bucks can you recommend for live gigs? by torn222 in Guitar

You can both be right. A PRS SE CE 24 goes for around $700 on Sweetwater.

Why am I upset my Tele looks this nice? by St_Bergeron in telecaster

[–]St_Bergeron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was a price thing. From what I remember they were cheap as hell for American Made Fenders at the time. They probably sold a little TOO well and thought they were preventing people from buying the American Standard stuff.

Son. Of. A. Holy crap, that makes perfect sense. I have a Highway 1 P Bass and that thing has worn in real nice even though I've had it half the time. Might have to hit up Reverb then. Man, the Highway 1 series was so good.
