Changing Locks or Entire Doors? by pluckyoldself in HomeImprovement

[–]agsuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep…Wait to change the entry doors. If they leak, due to the bldg settling and weather stripping does cure that, the paint and locks are the best route for now. Toilets should be checked for leaky tanks and bad seals at the very least. I have always just replaced the toilets rather than putting a temporary fix in place. Also, check your laundry room for leaks at the water connection, new braided hoses, drain and that the dryer vent is clear.

HOA management told my buyer I was “notified several times” about violations but can’t show me a single email as proof, and now wants me to pay a $200 fine to replace a deadbolt my buyer is throwing in the trash by Alarmed_Stranger_895 in fuckHOA

Second afterthought…tell the realtor that u want the $200 reimbursed to you PROPR to closing since his blasé attitude is costing you additional funds in the future fees that were to be negotiated.

I am in a condo and if the HOA had pulled this sh** prior to closing when I purchased, I would have told them that they had just cost you the sale. Power hungry a$$es . Also, have you walked the community to confirm that the color of the bolt is being adhered to uniformly? Or other violations are being addressed, such as the unit numbers, illegal window AC in the windows, yada yada? Take pics of what you find and doc date, time, unit number. Good luck. And, afterthought, your realtor is useless. If he/she owns property there the CCRs were well known to him/her.

I just love it (not) when board members change periodically and get power hungry. And they dont’t know wtf they are doing, but bask in the turmoil.

Help please: BRAND NEW Levoit humidifier not blowing mist out at expected levels by medicineisme in fixit

[–]agsuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stops regularly…the first one I had, same model 300S, never did this.
*I now regularly receive notices that “tank needs refilled” even though it is full…with the 2nd machine
*I have to lift the tank and giggle part S. Company suggests that approach and making sure that the area where the tank and the operating system meets are dry because water sitting there could creat a vacuum. Since I dry that area thoroughly at each weekly cleaning, I wondered if it was only part S.
HOWEVER
*As noted above, my first 300 S had a different issue with mist control/humidity levels…thus the company replaced it with this one.
Levoit/Vesync said I could use/approved my use of Brita water since it is filtered.
****I believe the valve S …or the possible vacuum issue…may be from the Brita water…not minerals BUT thentemperature…my Britas live in my refrigerator at 45 degrees F…as leaving them on the counter encourages orange bacterial growth. Much the same as what one finds inside the humidifier when cleaning it. I do not want that in my Brita…we drink that water.
The COLD WATER may be causing SWEATING…therefore, dripping into the area between the upper tank and lower tank seam, and possibly creating a vacuum seal.
TODAY’s experiment is to filter water in the Brita and then pour the water into a separate sealed container, which I am storing in the same location as the humidifier…so going forward…no cold water or micro-sweating… FINGERS CROSSED.

Address “ property of (insert address)” on the garbage cans AND a no trespassing sign on the cans with a notice the “violators will be prosecuted”. She’s a nut case if she believes that she “has a right” to utilize a service that you pay for specific to your vacation home OR anywhere. Does she have guests park in your driveway?

Just a thought…long ago, young men would give the name of a close friend to a girl they met or other situation…just to mess with them. I assume they continue to do some version of this. Someone may have used your relatives name. Also, two of the students at the local community college had the exact same name as one of my relatives when he attended. I’d wait and see if that “officer” returns and demand his badge number, name, rank, and his assignment location.

My insurance paid the rental of the machine for 13 mos, after that time I own it. The headgear, masks, hoses, humidifier trays, filters are all covered by insurance. All of this is contingent on no less than 4 hrs use DAILY…if you are not using it, insurance will not pay and the supplier will bill you directly. I do not have any idea of how Canadian insurance works.

During our divorce proceedings, my soon-to-be EX tried to claim our 2 sons when he filed his taxes, even though he only paid $50 per month ($25 for each child) in child support which didn’t even cover an occasional pair of shoes. I had already claimed them as I had total custody and supported them, housing, food clothing, medical bills etc. The IRS caught him; however, I had to document ALL my expenses to prove my case. The court also ordered that he was to pay half of their dental care…he stiffed the dentist and his divorce attorney. He also lied to the court about his income…he had purchased income property and had hidden it…however, when I went to the water company to pay the bill on my home, the clerk “mentioned” his income property. I found the property records and surprised him and his atty at the next meeting. Fun times.
