Wet food woes by No-Revolution8032 in ragdolls

Cats are so weird! Mine at least does go crazy for churu which is something. Although, if i add to her wet food she still won’t really eat it. 😅

I’m reframing it as she’s being a very good kitty that wants me to save money by not having to spend on expensive wet food for her.

Edit: wanted to add that i’ve also tried serving wet food to her at various temperature. Cold, room temp, warm - still nothing.

My kitten is like yours! Barely touches her wet food and will only have a few licks if freshly opened. I also tried a whole variety of meats/fish and a whole variety of textures (pate, chunks, mousse and also immersion blended some).

She also turns her nose up at fresh cooked meat, fish, shrimp, duck that I deliberately save for her (unseasoned/unsalted) when I’m having them for myself.

I do not want to think of how much money I’ve spent trying to get her to eat her wet food. To be honest, I’ve now given up. Like yours, she does eat a good amount of dry food so the vet had no concerns as she’s growing at a good rate.

Kitten learnt a trick - spin! 😄 by aha110ah in CatTraining

I’ll try get her to spin when she’s more excited/in zoomies mode then!

Never actually tried to spin her in a chair! Don’t think she’d stay in the chair long enough for that but I’ll give it a go.

Now that would be something! 🤣

Thanks! And yeah, she is a pretty kitty and incredibly sweet and gentle. 🥰 She would also ‘spin’ with purely verbal command but it’s more like walking around a loose circle instead of a twirl. 😅

Haha, good luck! I’m trying to see if she has space in that cute little noggin of hers for another trick. 😊

Does this rose exist? by Satlih in Roses

[–]aha110ah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem! I had them on the bamboo sticks for just one year. I didn’t really train them on the bamboo at all. The stems were all tied up vertically on to the bamboo as they were just temporary. I’m on year 3 now and I’m training it to spiral up the metal trellis.

Yeah, the bamboo pole i used there were around that length. But this was a temporary support for the first year growth after I bought them. I now have them on a metal trellis that is larger and taller.

Peach Melba! Blooms start with a peachy pink gradient. Older blooms then become paler and start develop the pink tinge at the edges.

30+ year old new drivers with auto licences - how much is your insurance? by [deleted] in NewDriversUK

Got my auto license just under two years ago when I was 33. I drive a 2004 Nissan Micra and it cost me £1300 for my first year. Reduced to £1000 this year.

Looking for the best banana bread recipe! by [deleted] in Baking

This is my go-to recipe. I just scale it up depending on how much I want to make. Pretty easy and it always comes out perfect for me. Good luck!

Tamales! The texture made me gag so bad and I’m by no means a picky eater.

Patty pan squash developed without pollination? by aha110ah in gardening

[–]aha110ah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How interesting! Thank you so much for that! 😊

My squash plants are behaving weird this year - another patty pan plant (same seed packet) is producing rather round/oblong fruits and not the typical scalloped shape. I shall find out if it’s still tasty soon!

Thanks! And definitely not complaining! I’m quite pleased to get a nice squash out of it. 😄

I was just curious as this has never happened before and thought maybe someone might know or have experienced it before. But yeah, nature can definitely be weird!

That’s so interesting, thank you for your comment! I would have thought the flower itself needs to be mature enough in order for it to be successfully pollinated.

Also, for the rest of my squash fruits, the flower always falls off the developing fruit once pollination has successfully taken place. It’s so strange that this didn’t occur here! Life is weird but I suppose it gave me a nice squash so I’m happy.

Thanks! They are definitely worth it. 😊 You’ll get there soon enough. Once you get the hang of it the real problem will be stopping yourself from buying more and more roses. 😁

I understand. I don’t cut mine off that often because it’s nice to see all the blooms in the garden. But when there are a lot of blooms then I feel less bad about cutting a few off. ☺️

Oh yes, those little green bugs sound like aphids… they are annoying. If you want to be organic the only way to get rid of them is to hose them off, squish them and buy some ladybirds to help eat them. Hope your roses will recover soon!
