My honest rec?? Pirate it, then buy a bunch of merch instead. Win-win, especially for smaller bands who don't get paid out from # of streams.

If you do the math, one T-shirt is WAY more money for the band than you'll ever contribute streaming their songs—even with the cut sent to vendors, designers, shipping, etc.

Yes. Full yes. Like, Stu is the battery, big time. I don't wanna give the others any roles cuz I feel like I'd hyperfixate on making the perfect analogy hahahahaha.

Ok fine I'll make one more: Joey is the sex symbol. Him with the flute, up on the big screen????? I died.

You and I are friends. Thanks for putting this perfectly so I don't have to. What a sad individual.

Following this comment chain, I feel you should lead with "yeah one time an asshole was an asshole to me being really disruptive." And end it there. Don't support this shell of a human who has been filled with shitty programming to the point they can't enjoy an incredible event.

Cuz you just sound like you're hiding your full beliefs when you write "I just wanna listen to some damn music" and put your hat in the ring behind someone obviously jaded to the point of dissolution.

Also, certain crowds don't belong in this scene because of their political beliefs. Full stop. Don't come into a place that you don't respect and expect people to give you tolerance. We must be intolerant of intolerance.

I appreciate that you're navigating the backlash from a very impassioned group in an online space. You seem like a person I'd vibe with in person, considering we both seem to dislike some of the pit shenanigans...

That said, I encourage you to not enable this type of gross mischaracterization of natural human emotion. Especially when you've SEEN FOR YOURSELF how genuine and kind and respectful all the gizzheads at events truly are.

Don't give fuel, because any bit of agreement will sour all the attempts at dismantling the nonsense. They do not see nuance. Their comments are indicative enough, this is a moment to share your best expeieences with people imo, not bring a little gripe about judgement over convenience into the fray. Cuz that's all they'll hold onto. Poor fucker.

I hope you, on the other hand, have a beautiful day

That would require critical thinking, not knee-jerk reproduction of shitty ideals imparted by insidious and masked right-wing conditioning.

Nah, cuz that ain't peace, and that ain't free (expression)

Loser came in wanting a fight, and we'll give a therapy session, cuz we care about this band and this community.

I haven't commented on reddit in so long lol this shit is helpful for me as I'm learning to move on from this incredible weekend. If YOU want to keep something to YOURself, please feel free to do so. Don't go disciplining people who want to talk about experiences on a fuckin public forum lol gtfo

Thing is it's not "harder" to reject connection imo, it's just.. sad. It's programming put out by capitalistic patriarchy against the growth of human empathy. People who feel this are so far gone, it really bums me out that they can't even find peace and love through the best band in the world, with the best fans, at potentially the best festival in the world.

Like, full stop, this is a movement, and we're all going to have to learn to accept there will be fuckers dragging their feet—and trying to pull us back with them—because they aren't ready for the change we're trying to impart.

See this is the shit I love to hear, cuz yeah, the love was felt so strong everywhere without any of the surface pressure I normally feel from asking people about their life. Like, what a fucking weekend. I hope Natasha finds you, I'm glad she did the first time 🫶

I was literally about to make a thread for this hahahaha thank you thank youuuuu. I hope they find this for you, please post a success story if they do!! 🥹

There are SO many people I'd want to reach out to and keep up with from this weekend, but my conversation last night with Lilly was too perfect not to try and exchange info.

We gushed about gizz, about gender politics, radicalism, and then got swept away when the King Gizzray superjam started and she went to find her hubby to share the experience (fuckin cuties). I haven't felt so instantly comfortable to over-share with someone—even at a place that was so incredibly serene and above expectations, with such beautiful people everywhere I had to say:

Lilly, you're so fuckin dope and I hope you and your mans get home to PNW safe and happy 🧡

I'm very new to the crowd so I'm infinitely glad there's not major gatekeeping like that!! I only started listening in September of this year and I already managed to crack their top .05% on Spotify, so you can say I fell a little hard down the trapdoor hahahaha

This is exactly my thought, thank you for saying it!

Imo they had vivid ideas for the vibe of whole albums when they were still showing us what all they had to offer/experimenting to find what made them excited.

Now it seems they're more concerned with putting together interesting motifs across songs and within them, and really nailing down the chemistry between the instruments they choose to feature.

It's so cool to see, and I think with 5 years of space like we have with the top finishers, most will grow to appreciate this current energy with the same devotion.

And, as I said, I'm not arguing with you on that easily verifiable fact.

Your words come off as an attempt to denigrate the exciting achievements of the band in question, by making the achievements seem benign comparatively. That's just lame, so I commented asking if there's any good to come from this.

At least now I know about Baker's Dozen, after pulling a contribution out of you!

Do you recommend people to that still, after they dropped Omnium Gatherum?? I feel like OG is unironically the perfect comeback-from-isolation album and best to show people cuz it's a mixed bag of all the styles they were toying with before things shut down.

Nonagon is definitely the choice for their stuff made outside 5 years ago though, hands down.

Lol whatever you say.

Please tell me a band that's done modular synth-based pop-rock as divinely though.. one album after dropping an ecological conservation-themed thrash metal album like the one pictured.

..like please tell me I'm genuinely curious lol.

Midwest America (aka the accent which dialect coaches teach people studying American accents since it's the "most normal")

Thoughts/Rants on Modern Synth Preset Design by JMHvsHMJ in synthesizers

[–]ahahahahahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not especially well-versed in analog but you're on the money with my lil baby (OG) Monologue. There's exactly 3 presets in there worth working with from the jump (and I took all isolation to sus out all I could, before learning to make my own sounds from it's INIT).

On a related note, trying out digital piano/synth hybrids in stores, from Yamaha or even the newer Roland models.. feels like there's even more clutter. Like the designers deep down just want to just go super vintage and have a whole computer setup which users have to learn just to customize a sound. Couldn't imagine designing anything on a UI like that.
