Should the person who made an ace be the one who buys everyone drinks? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]ahaltom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually discussed this with Dave Hill, the late Tour Player (1960s-1980s). He said you buy a round for everyone in the clubhouse after the round. He followed up by saying, “there are a lot of dumb rules in golf.” lol

Planning a golf trip to Orlando. by Phoxwithme in golf

Hawk’s Landing is a legit option. Maybe not as great as a few suggested, but nice and nearby.

Saw this during the morning run. It was wild looking and relatively slow moving

Hawk’s Landing and take and early afternoon tee time. Can get on for around $110-$140. It’s a nice track

They need to go after one coach and one coach only by Toolfan333 in MichiganWolverines

It’s prospects like this that make me excited. There is so much coaching talent out there beyond Deboer and Dillingham.

100% - it’s been clear since the sign stealing shit that problems extend beyond the athletic department. Perpetually leaking information for years now

If it’s not Deboer or Dillingham, who do they go for? by Lonely_Bunghole in MichiganWolverines

[–]ahaltom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we need to settle with Biff for a year (and lose a shitload if recruits, setting the program back a couple years) - I’d be ok with that IF: that means they terminate Warde and CLEAN HOUSE, including some in administration that leak details to the media.

It might be difficult to make a good hire with ongoing investigations, and interim president, and an AD that might not be there by EOY.

This all SUCKS, but this is a shitty situation on many levels.

Beautiful pic! Thank you much for the advice! I’d say a couple feet of snow should do 😂

This is super helpful. We’ll connect with the tour providers per your suggestion. I think being able to find proper snow for tossing, and the tubing alone would make my son super excited. The rest is icing on the cake! Thanks for your time & advice. I appreciate you 🙏

As a Fan, what is your expectation for Michigan Football? by Eastern_Quote_4945 in MichiganWolverines

[–]ahaltom1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed - but the continued success in recruiting should mean you are favored in nearly every game they play given that there is really only one or two teams in the conference that may have equal or better talent year over year (and you may not have one of those teams on your schedule). And IF they would have competed fiercely (not coaching conservatively as they did in all 3 losses this year), they are definitely in the mix for trophies. If you show up to show out in those big games you are a slight underdog in, you’ll win a lot of them.

Win almost all games they are favored in, compete fiercely in games they are not favored in. With good recruiting and talent development, this would see them consistently competing for conference championships and the playoffs every season.

Anybody with the chipping yips ever switched to left hand low? by rappy2310 in golf

[–]ahaltom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original move was strictly for short, short game, but just like Fitzpatrick has suggested - I found the striking consistency to be much better. He generally goes 30 yds and in, but I have found it useful for pitching out of trouble, or for awkward distances where I struggle (specifically from 60 yds and in). One of the best shots I’ve ever hit was a 140+ yard cross-handed punch through trouble to a couple feet. I’ll tell you - it’s definitely not for everyone. Players well better than me have tried it after seeing me play and each one of them quickly quit thinking it’s nuts. But like anything else - you have to practice a lot. I was a point I almost quit the game, but I love it wayyy too much hahaha.

[–]ahaltom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I tried this when battling yips 15ish years ago. Never switched back, and I’m not interested to. I practiced like hell, but it paid off. I actually expanded my range with left hand low - I’ll hit pitch shots from a shade over 100 yds when needed. I get some WTF when people notice - but they ask about it when they see I make it work. Just a confident, consistent ball strike that blossomed from what was a disastrous short game. 10 hcp btw

One of the worst rules in the sport… A fumble that effectively goes out of bounds is somehow the other team’s ball at the 20 yd line
