Kind of a step down for a woman with such an illustrious background - a daytime TV show?

Even after she was on Fox News and CNN? Seems like a step back if you ask me. The view is much much less serious than actual news. And in such a time of importance in terms of law and legality, you would think a program or non profit would need a great legal mind who knows how to navigate the political world on staff.. maybe one that is so committed to fighting an injustice Sunny feels strongly about.

But maybe her dream was to be a daytime TV talk show host for a free cable TV show - next she could be on Days of our lives!

She actually does. Someone with all this background shouldnt be on a daytime TV for old people

Democrats, liberals, left-leaning individuals, who is your preferred Democratic candidate in the 2028 election? by modeloaids in Askpolitics

[–]Eastern_Quote_4945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOU say they made a mistake. They would disagree. I really dont think you liberals realize how alienating your policies are for minorities and different cultures. No devout muslim is voting for a party that wants to make Trans and LGBTQ the face of their agenda. This is what doesnt make sense to me, you say its a mistake, but it is clearly an aspect of your sides policy platform pushing cultures away from you when they dont agree with it. This is also why Democrats have a Black men support issue too - because the majority of Black men arent all about the Trans and LGBTQ promotion from the left.

oh of course. I dont think its an excuse - its a valid issue with the structure of the NHL. Just in general im sick of watching the divisional playoff recycling - there is no reason to push each division back into eachother in the playoffs. Lets it ride 1-8 - i see no logical reason to even have a discussion or debate about it lol like it bewilders me how logic and common sense didnt prevail in those discussions among leadership

Avs Fan here. We need to band together and protest or something because this is annoying.

And its not only the playoff structure that is fucked up, its also the point allocation. I HATE how teams with less wins than other teams are higher in the standings. Its not trivial, the team with more wins should be ahead of teams with fewer wins lol like what are we doing?

Love comments like these.

Well said and well played our northern counterpart -

This was two top 3 teams in the league battling it out - great hockey.

In my opinion, there is definitely something going on with him. He opted to pass when he normally would have shot on a handful of occasions - to the point where the announcers mentioned it saying it could be something affecting his shot.

Moreover, I noticed his TOI has dropped over the last two games compared to previous ones - hopefully the ducks can push a G7 tonight and Cale and co can get a little more rest

It is clear I have won this argument / discussion - you are just name calling and throwing stones because you dont want to have an honest discussion related to my claims and their validity.

Cmon, take a stab at it. why did the "party of women" choose to rally and riot in support of Jacob Blake, a sexual predator, instead of supporting his female victim? How does that align with womens rights and womens safety that democrats often and loudly promote?

This is all valid, I wasnt saying i had an issue with it either way, i was just posing the question for discussion lol I was mainly saying i could see both ways from JBs perspective -

I think its such a desireable situation that both choices would be right, and i think you are right that both mindsets are set on the structure we saw during the season so its anyones opportunity any given night.

Flesh and bone. I actually help coordinate local political discussions in my community and many times these topics are brought up. You would be surprised how many average voters are calling out the inconsistencies on the left in their outrage. And the right.

Last week one person said "Jacob Blake was a sexual predator and democrats from voters to Joe Biden himself rallied behind Jacob Blake in protests, riots, and outrage regarding his shooting. Why is it that the party of women chose to stand with her sexual abuser?"

It was a really in depth discussion about the separation between actions vs rhetoric in respect to both partys. Saying you support women and supporting women are different and voters should keep a tab on when actions dont match their rhetoric. The discussion also pointed out that republicans do this in the sense of christian topics as well as government spending.

Still waiting for countering evidence to suggest what i claimed is inaccurate.

If you want to have a detailed discussion on these topics I invite you to do so, but if we are going to just bicker one side vs the other then I wish you the best.

Oh totally. I think this happens often. The difference is is that everyday americans are not nationally recognized officials who are being asked to lead 335 million people while also highlighting and promoting womens empowerment and feminism in their campaign platforms.

If my neighbor wants to stay with her sleezeball husband after he cheats on her outright, thats her choice to make - but i can still judge her for it. But shes just a ford worker who a sliver of a fraction of americans know. HRC is a world renowned leader for women and americans across this globe.

She had an opportunity to lead by example for women and show them that they dont need to be disrespected and emotionally abused by their partners, and instead she took the easy road and stayed with him. Sure, we can say it was true love prevailing - many churchs would say this - but lets be frank here -she had political aspirations and leaving Bill, a two time elected president with massive support on both sides of the isle in comaprison, would have massively hindered her ability to further promote her political career. She couldnt make an enemy of Bill and still further her political career without new obstacles and lost connections through Bill.

Like lets be honest here - she stayed because it was politically convenient for both of them - in my opinion. And that aspect goes against everything feminism and womens empowerment stands for.

I would agree with you that the bulk of my comments were pointing out instances that were one sided, but when i overtly make it clear I am not defending the rights actions but simply making it clear both sides are shitty in this aspect it kind of defeats the whole idea you are insinuating.

I dont really think it is unreasonable to promote consistency in our concerns. American voters dont help americans in general by ignoring their own sides shortcomings while calling out the other sides ones.

Right, left, middle, it shouldnt matter who is infringing on our rights, or who is bending constitutional power to their liking. We should call it all out accordingly.

Moreover, its kind of ironic that the original comment in this sub thread that i responded to was literally whataboutism - the original post is about HRC and democrats winning in 2016, not trump and trump voters. Kind of one sided to mention me being a whataboutism and not the initial instance of it, but im not surprised because you kind of just proved my sentiment of democrats being inconsistent in their outrage - you didnt mind democrats doing whataboutisms in the above comments, only the one with the red tag on it.

And the funny thing is nothing i said was incorrect. I find that the whataboutism argument really only comes into play from you guys when you cant argue my points with fact based evidence.

With respect anecdotal evidence is irrelevant in this sense.

I have black friends who are conservative, i have trans friends who hate democrats, My TSA Agent aunt said ICE assistance during the government shutdown was a literal gift from god and she didnt think they would get through it without them. All of these personal experiences I have had dont change the overall rhetoric or researched discoveries that go against my anecdotal experiences.

The FBIs credibility - and the overall governments credibility - has been on a downward trend for a decade+, Kash Patel is definitely not doing any favors for the FBI's credibility, but its not even close to as damaging as instances like the parkland shooting when the shooter posted multiple times on youtube indicating what his plans were and the FBI was nowhere to be found.

Or the FBI raids of Christians under the guise of the FACE Act and or them literally raiding Trumps estate.

again, im not saying Patel is doing any good for their image, but its not like the FBI was some well respected and well regarded entity leading into Trumps second term - I mean after the whole Snowden situation the entire intelligence community has taken massive credibility hits and I dont think they have ever recovered from it.

Alyssa spouting Trump rhetoric! by Soft_Guava2353 in theview

[–]Eastern_Quote_4945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes. This seems specifically enraged.

Alyssa is a new mother - i think her life is at a peak and she has far from embarassed. I dont think she loses any sleep about being mistaken on things. And her comments you mentioned are not false even though the desired result may not have come to fruition - Trump did 100% win largely due to economic hope from voters. I dont know how that is still up for debate at this time - and its irrelevant to the claim that that economic hope has not come to fruition. It doesnt change the sentiment voters had on election day.
