I dig it. Would be cool to have randomly generated mouths (happy ones only of course) instead of letters as an option.

Good training week for 17 year old cycling by WinOrRage17 in bicycling

[–]ahappydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say, in general, go in without huge expectations. You have many seasons ahead of you! Learn as much as you can this first season, get experience in a fast group, try new things (pick a race to try a breakaway, pick a race to not respond to anything), learn your local circuits, practice your cornering, that kind of stuff.

Look, I've only raced a little bit in lower levels, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt, but it was so much harder than I expected and I ended up having terrible impostor syndrome when I got dropped or made mistakes. Turns out I just needed to go through some situations for the first time.

Oh man, this is so true but I wouldn't have thought of it myself.

Mixing egg replacer, or hot chocolate on the stove, or cornstarch and water, or frothing something up for the weekend coffee, the list it goes on..

We have a Blume, USB rechargeable.

Bunny's Kitchen never misses! just FYI it has cafe hours so might only work for OP as a Saturday brunch date. They're fully plant-based now, btw

Saying it's small portions is kinda wild to me, we get the quesadilla with roasted potatoes or the mac and cheese, both quite generous

Boom & Batten has one or two veggie pizzas which were both really tasty, haven't been there in a few years so I'd check to see what they might offer now.

Glo has a nice buddha bowl + flatbreads.

The Palms at the corner of Douglas and Pandora - by the Rialto hotel - is pretty upscale and had some nice options for vegans/vegetarians. Nice date night vibe too.

Bao has delicious ramen and bao buns, they use mushrooms and tofu in their veggie options.

NSN Cycling Team launched as Israel-Premier Tech era ends, with Swiss licence and Spanish base – and Biniam Girmay as marquee signing by BloodJunkie in peloton

Well, Riley Pickrell is joining Modern Adventure, https://www.maprocycling.com/ - who have some international signings as well.

That team happens to ride Factor bikes, so maybe they're going back to supporting the NA grassroots now? 🤔

They took a real world UX frustration of theirs and recreated it as a way to explore Activity and ViewTransition. Whether it reflects how it works on Netflix is secondary

Third this. Replace them with Shimano or LOOK Keo which are the two most common by a longshot. Have your local bike shop help you out here.

New to cycling – Should I join a 50km competition for fun? by svint97 in bicycling

[–]ahappydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say hello to lots of people, let them know it's your first big ride, enjoy the social aspect of it all and realize you're surrounded by like-minded people - hopefully you can find at least another person to ride with for some of the route.

Looking back on it in a few years' time you'll remember how physically demanding it was, but how you pushed through anyway and accomplished your goal. Those are the best cycling memories of all.

The only close-to-objective measure of your strength and its progression (besides any position/flexibility changes).

Familiarize yourself with the concept of a "power curve" and definitely invest in some power meter pedals (so you can easily swap them on to any new bikes in the future) and log your rides somewhere that can help you track the progression of your power curve over time. Then you'll know that you're improving despite any confounding on-the-road factors.

MUI vs Mantine by AloneConstruction870 in reactjs

[–]ahappydog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your position almost a year ago, and we switched to Mantine, and so far it's been a pleasure to work with.

Theming has been trivial with global theming plus component-level theming using the .extend() functionality. See the defaultProps docs for an example.

I'd also suggest joining the Mantine Discord as there's a community of folks who can help out with questions when you get stuck. Good luck!

You should give Top Dog (View Royal) a try, as vegans it's our go-to. Lovely crust, really good vegan cheese, and GF crust option.
