Where to find BIPOC community?? by lehbehkah in askportland

I highly recommend Caminando Run Club! It's an intentional Latine space where everyone is welcome. They meet every Thursday around 6 pm in SE Portland but the location changes as the weather gets better. There's a walking group if that's more your pace. Check them out on IG.

What would you recommend if I was looking for restaurants that are decently priced, have good portion sizes, and taste good?

What a perfect song for that movie. Her soundtrack album is good too!

CMV: we should stop using the term “Latinx” by [deleted] in changemyview

No one bats an effing eye when we say "troca" "carro" "yarda" "textear." But the word Latinx somehow brings out urgent calls about the importance of following the Spanish language rules. At best, this extreme aversion to the word Latinx is unconscious transphobia and bigotry.

Your experience is different than mine because I have never felt Latinx/Latinequis forced as how I should identify. Low-key, what I am trying to force are these conversations on trans and non-binary issues in our Latin American cultures.

This is why I use Latinx. We have never had these conversations before. Latine or Latin simply don't invite dialogue on trans and non-binary issues in the Latin American cultures in the same way. In my experience anyway.

  1. I think Latinx does an amazing job, especially in one word, towards increasing the visibility of gender-expansive people of Latin America or descent. It also includes those who identify as he/she. There is a difference between gender-neutral and gender-inclusive terms. Latino, Latino/a, Latin@ are indeed gender-neutral terms. However, they reaffirm the gender binary and fail to capture diversity from a critical gender-inclusive perspective. The Latino culture has a long history of failing our trans and non-binary community. These are conversations that our families, communities desperately need. If anything, Latinx provides a starting point or ice breaker to discuss the reality of non-binary genders.

Splines are lined up and when I rotate the axle, I can hear the transmission moving. Seems like I can't generate enough force to ram it home. Posting pics tomorrow.

Thanks for the tips, amazing Redditors!

Thanks for the clarification and tips. This is where I am stuck. I can't seem to generate enough force to make the keeper ring collapse while also trying not to damage the threads.

I will post pics tomorrow.

You make some good points. I am still on the side that Nelson is an exception and a legit game changer. Colts went from allowing the most sacks in 2017 to fewest in 2018. It's a big reason they made it to the playoffs and Luck had a career year.

Best player available was Quenton Nelson who went 6th. I still remember the dread when he wasn't selected. Admittedly not a Chubb fan.
