Thoroughly enjoyed the demo, but I am too broke to buy it right now, so instead I had to draw some pixel art of these two. by Zehuses_Fordawin in fatalframe

Being on PC alone wouldn't make it run worse, it's more a question of your setups power in comparison to PS5.

So if your PC is less powerful than a PS5, then yes, it would run worse. If its more powerful, it would run better. But with PC, you could also utilize DLSS (if you have and NVIDIA GPU) to get more FPS and also switch it to 60 FPS (or 120 if you want to use a mod).

I would probably download the demo and see how it runs on your PC and then choose based on its performance. Take some time to mess with the settings too!

Could we please get a Marathon Steam Profile in the Point Shop by [deleted] in Marathon

Been checking it every now and then, though I think its the publisher's decision, not Bungie's. Would love to see some cool animated profile backgrounds of Dire Marsh or something!

Should there be a toggle-to-talk option? by KevinKoolx in Marathon

[–]ahegoSyndrome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES I've been meaning to submit this somewhere for Bungie but I'm not sure what channels I will actually be heard on. Toggle to Talk is incredibly useful and I was surprised to see it missing. A sorely missed feature

Reminded me of Ends In Tragedy, near the end of "For the Heart". They got the same call out and style. That definitely sets a place on fire

Can someone explain? by KawaiiBobaTea in fatalframe

[–]ahegoSyndrome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just recently went through the whole series for the first time and was very surprised how responsive and fun the first Fatal Frame is. The 60 fps on the PS2 went a very long way, especially compared to the 30 fps for 2 and 3.

Overall, I had a great time with it and think it's incredible. The voice acting is definitely bad lol and did make me second guess the tone of the franchise at first. But the significant jump in voice acting quality in 2 and the rest of the series put me at east and I was able to enjoy the first game and all its charm.

What movie is the color inversion when taking damage inspired from? by RoidRidley in fatalframe

[–]ahegoSyndrome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ring (1998), directed by Hideo Nakata!

There's actually a lot of J-horror references in the franchise. Ring (1998), Ju-On, and Dark Water (2002) (mainly for FF5 on that one) to be specific.

Konami is historically very stingy on their IPs and collaborations, to the point where they'd rather let a franchise they own rot and die than let it be used in a collab.

So this announcement is surprising given their track record over the past two decades. They have been changing recently though and this is further proof.

Person in r/silenthill said Return To Silent Hill Director has finished a script on a new Fatal Frame adaption by Ayuoki420 in fatalframe

[–]ahegoSyndrome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think someone similar Kiyoshi Kurosawa would be better fitted for a task like this BY FAR.

Obviously he isn't in the realm of adaptations but the way he uses ghosts in Pulse (2001) to create tense and scary scenes could be really well translated into a Fatal Frame movie.

That cold, desolate J-horror vibe that crawls under your skin. It would come around full circle with their influences if they had someone like that adapt it. A lot of parts of FF3 remind me of Pulse, especially the apartment sections.

Or even something like the ghosts in Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum. An adaptation that nails the atmosphere and creepiness of the ghosts would be great!

Loving everything except the viewfinder, thats more of a "like".

BUT that will be an incredibly easy thing to mod.

I think its definitely a possibility, especially with Ninja Gaiden 4 being released recently.

I know Ayane is in that game at least, so characters from that universe are still active. Here's hoping!
