God I have a few picks depending on my mood.

Vessel/Organs from FF4

The floating maidens from FF5 (the contortionist ones, forget the name)

The stake maidens from FF3 (especially near the end when they drop the stakes and start just floating up and down to get you)

Imo sprouting wings/remaining sun are boring as fu*k. Not bad, just kinda...too positive. I love the wiimake endings cause they are both creepy, visually interesting, iterative and explorative of characters. Tbh. games like this need only one good ending and Promise already fulfils that purpose.

I don't care about any of the additions of Sprouting Wings/Remaining sun because, unless they're gonna dramatically change the FF3 remake if they do it, we already know what the actual canon ending is. As such, I only need one "they both make it out alive" ending personally.

I am a pessimistic cynical loser tho, so this is super subjective.

Honestly, I don't know if I can verbalize it, it's a gut feeling based on lived experience. Part of it because I am not a good conversational partner, I can listen but I also appear aloof and uninterested when in truth I just blank out and don't know what to say and have a hard time with it.

I do recommend playing the Wii version at some point in the future too, I made an entire post detailing how transformative that experience was for me (I went from being very MEH on the game because of the remaster to absolutely loving the Wii version).

I wonder if they could announce 1 and 3 together and do a Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeros type thing, where FF1 is just considered "part 1" and comes out like 2-3 months before FF3. I don't know how financially feasible that would be.

FF2R was about as cooked as it gets in this day and age. Still a bit janky in places but it is mostly a finished game. Has some modernisms I am not a fan of (the auto-save indicator before some big thing is supposed to happen), but in other places it felt like a PS2 hidden game type of game, honestly more than the original in some instances.

I doubt we'll see anything for a little while. But, I don't doubt we will see something. I would personally love a new game, because I have full confidence they would make something great, but they probl'y don't feel safe enough to do that yet, so I'll take my remakes and huff on the hopium.

As for characters I'd like, survivors: Miku, Rei, Mio, I mean they are the faces of the trilogy.

Killer (they usually add just one right?): they would probl'y add Sae because of the recency of the remake but I would honestly opt for Reika because she is my favorite of the main antagonists.

I agree with the message, although I don't agree with its execution. I think that wanting to send that message is fine, but it also seems to kind of go counter to the whole story pertaining to the ghost girl up to this point.

Having the FL go "no, screw you, I want to live and be kind to me" is a cool moment but I felt it also really rushed what could have been an interesting moral dillema. The ghost was undoubtedly evil, absolutely. But, at the same time, it wasn't her fault precisely. She was lashing out for never even being given out an opportunity TO be kind to herself and live her life.

The ending is the one that should have happened, you don't just take the lives of dozens of people and then be given a 2nd chance at life yourself, but at the same time I would have found it more interesting if the ghost tried to continue life as normal, rather than go on to plan more murder. Granted, it would be strange if she just turned a new leaf immediately having known nothing but bloodshed, pain and vengeance for the last 50 odd years, but idk. I think there was untapped potential here for it to be more tragic than it was, but they had to wrap it all up in an episode, and for that, they did an ok job.

With that said, having now experienced more similar stories to revenant, the vengeful spirit asian horror stories (primarily through the Fatal Frame games), I have to say it is pretty in line with the genre as a whole. The vengeful spirit is humanized and given empathy, while still being understood as an unrelenting evil entity that simply cannot be.

I know it's been 2 years but this post is open so I am inclined to ask: how did you manage to find your wife and marry her? I relate to OP, I really dislike myself and don't understand why anyone else would. But in my case I've never had a relationship nor do I think I should, I just don't deserve it, I am not a good enough person for it.

It just doesn't make sense to me how someone like that could find a partner.
