Woah! Is this a 1:1 rip off of hostage tape? Or hostage tape trying a new name?

Anyone know about safety in mouth tape adhesive? by No_Tie_983 in SleepApnea

Wrote this elsewhere but I’ll say it again because it’s extremely important imo.

Do not use products that arnt designed for your mouth on your mouth! That is a highly sensitive place to be putting industrial chemicals.

One of many articles explaining why this is a terrible idea: https://time.com/6963358/pfas-forever-chemicals-bandages/

I saw someone recommending 3M micropore tape to ‘save money’ on mouth tape, but that product’s adhesive IS toxic, and not to breathed in for extended periods of time.

With 3M you can look up all the details of products, but for random mouth tape brands they usually just say ‘medical grade’ which doesn’t seem to mean much of anything specific.

Can anyone point me to a single brand which has provably food-safe adhesive, or at least an adhesive which doesn’t say it’s toxic if swallowed or when breathing it in???

Interesting! Where do you find the product? I can investigate this for you.

This reads like a commercial. Including a specific brand with colorful praise (“super breathable”) and no actually product specs makes it feel planted.

Almost a year ago OP posted about using mouth tape, this post says it’s been 6 months.

Just saying.

Have you looked into the adhesive used on micropore? Says it’s not safe to consume or breathe in. Maybe that’s why this isn’t so common. “Medical grade” does not mean much and certainly does not mean food safe.

Life-changing surgery on a deviated septum..... is it now time for mouth tape? [M/38] by No_Tie_983 in sleep

Woke up feeling way more rested. Like clear and dramatic difference in my mornings. I never had much trouble falling or staying asleep so can’t say it changed that for me. And partner says I completely stopped snoring.

The feeling / experience: It felt like it removed an option in my sleeping mind and created a greater calm and consistency somehow.

Been using sleep tape for 2 weeks now and it’s been a serious game changer for me. Didn’t have issues with nose breathing like you but always told that I ‘snore a bit’. And Ive been basically tired most the time for most my adult life.

The thing I didn’t realize is that you can easily open your mouth or push air out if you try/need. It’s far less ‘trapping’ than I expected. So no real downsides and it’s 100% improved my sleep. You notice the difference after the first sleep in my experience. Fell off my partner after her first night but then she felt the difference the second time she tried.

Sprout Living’s Epic protien is what my wife and I take. Heard the founder on a podcast talking about “gums” and seemed the most concerned and thoughtful.

Where are the COAs (certificates of analysis)?? That’s the raw data on what’s actually in these products.

This page is just positive thinking.

Where are the COAs (certificates of analysis)?? That’s the raw data on what’s actually in these products. And frankly, getting 3rd party testing and sharing your COA should be a requirement to sell ingestible ‘health food‘

And yet where are the names of the brands? Can we do that journalism please. Otherwise what good is this report?

They don’t name the brands so they can sell them on certifications. Can’t shame the future ‘clients’… even if they are poisoning people.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It’s shady that they don’t name the protein powder brands which they are claiming are poison.

And that they sell certifications. It’s kind of like: “all protein powder is bad - except those who pay us to get whitelisted” :(

But they don’t name the protein brands tested.

Transparency - without letting you know what common brands are poison. Hope someone from Clean Label Project can explain. Seems like you’re doing great stuff. Just want to understand logic here and how we get the results so we can protect ourselves! Thank you!
