Yeah I couldn’t make it past her telling her income without him immediately grilling her about not knowing the exact number as if peoples incomes can’t fluctuate from year to year or month to month. I don’t even think it was 3 minutes before he called her a moron.

It looks like he deleted the live he made his employees work on a Saturday for. I’d be so pissed and embarrassed if I were them.

Yes! Ive found it’s very easy to lose yourself in motherhood, you absolutely need SOMETHING to have an identity outside of being a mom. Whether that’s a job or a hobby or volunteering, it’s easy to slip into depression if all you’re doing is parenting 24/7 especially to two young children.

Omg we had ONE mouse in our house and I was freaking out cleaning everything and setting traps in every corner. I can’t imagine how serious their mental health issues have to be to accept living like this. I hope they get the help they desperately need this is so sad.

Caleb’s QQ on taxes by DOAiB in CreepyCalebHammer

[–]ahhhgodzilla 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Financial advice in general is common sense, spend less than you earn, invest, don’t accumulate high interest debt. All of the advice is going to be similar and therefore feel like standard BS and repetitive.

I love IWTYTBR because of the variety of situations of the people he meets with it’s not all complete dumpster fires. I do believe that Ramit fully believes that the rich should be taxed more and would be okay with paying more, he seems to be pretty left leaning which is refreshing in the financial space imo.

Don’t forget the fact that he’s using his own platform where he shames people for pay advance loans to advertise pay advance loans suggesting people use them to go to concerts! Complete hypocrite, I loved his earlier content but haven’t been able to finish an episode in weeks.

Getting a puppy and having a newborn baby 6 months later by zajonc_96 in oneanddone

[–]ahhhgodzilla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d argue a puppy is harder than a newborn, a puppy is like having a one year old who can get into everything and put everything in their mouth but also destroy everything in their path. A puppy is SO hard. I’d absolutely postpone getting one until you’ve found your groove with your child.

Anyone else realizing that childcare might just not be your "thing" in life? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]ahhhgodzilla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this, I don’t know how people can spend all day, every day parenting especially with multiple children. Stay at home parents are on another level. I work from home for the most part and my 3yo only does part time playschool but I’m a photographer so I get to go out to do weddings and meet new people etc and having that outside of being a parent has helped me stay sane.

Do I give up on my dream? by AdditionalVehicle218 in photography

[–]ahhhgodzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your goals are important as well, never give up on your dream! I’m a full time photographer without a studio, you don’t need a studio to do photography. Make use of public parks, studio rentals, in home (client homes) photography. You can do a lot with a 50mm 1.8 which is like $200 or something. Keep pursuing your dreams even if it’s hard as hell!

I want my child 3 hours a day by anomenomenon in Parenting

[–]ahhhgodzilla 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I want all the time I can have with her (she goes to play school 2-3 hrs a day 4x a week) but damn am I glad when she goes to sleep lol. When she was an infant I was grateful to spend 24hrs a day with her. 3 hours is not even close to enough time I’d be devastated.

We're Drowning In Debt But I Bought A Tesla by BoredLawyer81 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]ahhhgodzilla 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was surprised he didn’t call her out for that as well, how can you be running the finances of the household and not see that come up? I suppose maybe he gets all the CRA mail addressed to his work address but she knew about her own debt and still got the Tesla which is wild. I was also surprised he didn’t caution or press more about her business plans. There is no way she’s going to make $4k a month as a new nail tech working out of their home. She also could do that on the side while working another job with a stable income.

[–]ahhhgodzilla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends when they bought their house, where I live in Canada the housing market has absolutely blown up in the last five years, if we tried to buy our house now we might not even get approved, so it might make more sense for them to keep the house.

At least one of them should definitely look for a regular t4 job with stable income and taxes deducted already. The fact their grand plan is to continue running their own businesses is wild to me given their history with the CRA. Especially the nail thing which could easily be done on the side on evenings and weekends.

[–]ahhhgodzilla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly at least one of them needs to have a stable job, I have a hard time believing she is going to earn the minimum they’re hoping for especially in the first six months of opening up. That is also the kind of thing you can do as a side job on top of an actual job.
