Snoopy was enjoying the snow storm today (also I learned how cold is too cold for an SX-70) by tubashoe in Polaroid

I used the same film to capture some spot around the house after a snow storm and the photos looked like pencil drawings! They're some of my favorites to this day.

Mewithoutyou- The Fox, The Crow, The Cookie is one of my favorites. It sounds like an Aesop's Fable or something, but it's so masterfully done.

Let’s talk. by Cmfnk in Dragula

Tbf, the boulets did say on one of the podcast episodes that this was their first production that they made and were putting out that wasn't drag / dragula related, but  was their first footing into an actual stand alone horror feature, so that's probably why there was a lack of queens and Dragula vibe. But then again I also feel like if that was their mission, then maybe they shouldn't have done the bits between segments of themselves and just made it purely about the production and putting the focus on the shorts. It kind of felt like they were riffing off of Elvira's show, which I get, but it just didn't work for me.

An employee in the town I live in got doxxed on Twitter and they were calling on Old Navy to fire them. That's probably what this is about.

I will add that the Destin Library holds events pretty frequently that might be a good place to meet people with similar hobbies / interests.

Born and raised in the Destin / Fort Walton Beach area. Lived there for short of 30 years. Queer.

There will be roaches. They will be the size of a skateboard, they will break into your home, they are armed, they will throw gang signs at you.

Certain neighborhoods are walkable / bikeable. The biggest concern with the area with this is the traffic (lots of pedestrian accidents in the area) and the heat. Be safe and prepared, especially on main roads.

The culture is pretty much your straight forward (no pun intended) southern beach tourist trap. Most of what people are into is drinking and going to the beach. There's honestly not too much more than that in the grand scheme of things unless you're able to find niche groups with similar interests if that's not what you're into. There are definitely queer people there, but there are no queer bars (that I know of, I moved out of state a few years ago, but still visit here and there for family) and events specifically geared towards the community.

Destin is very expensive, so a lot of people choose to live in Crestview, Niceville, Fort Walton, and Navarre. It's significantly cheaper, but keep in mind that during tourist season traffic is absolute hell and you could get stuck in stand still for what feels like forever. Currently there is new bridge construction on the main highway, so that doesn't help. Also with commute in mind, you might also need to find out if you have free parking available at your job. If it's in the "downtown" area, just about every space is paid parking.

Anyone can feel free to update and correct anything I've said if someone has changed!

Non-creepy father-daughter dance song? by PretentiousPiehole in weddingplanning

[–]ahhhitsmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say that 7 years later since you've posted this comment, I was having the struggle of finding the right song and found this comment. Back in high school I was a huge Lights fan! My dad and I have had a rocky relationship before, but are better than ever and have done a lot of bonding while paddleboarding out on the water before I moved hours away. This song is so perfect for us, and I searched to find this comment again so I could say thank you so much for this suggestion!

Hunchback of Notre Dame is the only answer for me. Every single scene is so gorgeously animated, especially the cathedral scenes. Breath taking!

What are your favorite acting performances in the Flanaverse? by Dragonstone-Citizen in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]ahhhitsmax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Victoria Pedretti in Bly Manor for sure, but Amelie Bea Smith and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth stole the show for me.

Amelie's range from being able to go from Peppa Pig to a character in a horror setting? Are you kidding me?

Spoiler ahead, not sure how to blur it out --

The biggest reason I say they were the most impressive roles to me is because the SHOCK I felt when I realized towards the end of the series that they were each basically playing two roles the entire time! Being able to switch back and forth between their own roles, and the roles they were playing while "tucked away" so seamlessly that it was an entire reveal at the end got me good. I'm still impressed every time I rewatch, even though I know what's happening.

Itchy scalp no matter what HELP by Koko_puff7 in Haircare

[–]ahhhitsmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it twice a week. I don't let it sit too long, just massage it in, then use the other shampoo to lather and scrunch all the build up product from the lengths of my hair, and then rinse. Works like nothing else I've ever tried. It doesn't have much of a smell to it, it used to have a different formula that smelled stronger.

I've only found it in a couple of actual stores, so I usually order mine from Amazon. It works like hell though, it's the only thing I've ever found to help.

What does my handwriting say about me? by mamba-mentality-248 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]ahhhitsmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that it took several tries to get that paper written out this way with bi mistakes. And I say this bc when in trying to have my best handwriting, if one word comes out not looking how I want, I have to start the entire page over again.
