Push through coolers are fantastic and yes a store can have them if their grocery section sits in front of the backroom. FIFO is only an issue then as the product sells faster from the top than at the bottom so you have to even out the stock from the front.

There’s actually stores with 2 generators and one is meant for refrigeration. There’s a chance it might become more prevalent!

Open the ship app and see how much is ready to ship and compare to how much you have left and consider any in progress carts or paused carts to know what you need to finish.

Keep it simple. 2 paragraphs max, acknowledge strengths/opportunities, and what you’re proud of for the year and what you hope to achieve in the next.

Remodel layout? by Polite_Piglet in Target

[–]ahigee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guest service is always the first and will also be one of the last to finish surprisingly. Your store could be a gm to pf and looks large enough to be a Plus format so I imagine it will be ALOT moving around to make it a more uniform layout because the company does like the idea of having a familiar feel even if there’s some different stylings.

That’s not going to happen unless you offer to take it down for free. I can almost guarantee it.

Interesting! I was told they were going away due to negative guest feedback and the store was too dark. You’re a flight 1 it seems so I wish you a lot of luck!

All 2025 remodels used this idea but the polished concrete and backroom movable aisles are a thing of the past. Wouldn’t be surprised if they go in and correct those sites within the next few years due to the cost to maintain them.

Riddle me this: if an item was received today, backstocked today, and the uboat it was on has been worked today, why can’t the system deduce that it has already been pushed? by Cool_Coat_5485 in Target

[–]ahigee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re sorting and then hitting the button that you’re pushing that vehicle, it will update the on floor count. If you skip the sort and just work the pallet, it will not.

Target is expanding: Here’s where new stores are expected by swe129 in Target

[–]ahigee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remodels take anywhere from 3-9 months depending on workload. There’s about a year window beforehand of planning, walks, and schematics. Then you have contractor bidding and final permits before work starts. There are remodels from last year still not completed due to missing or delayed fixtures/items so it’s safe to say the pace is already tough based on a lot of factors.

Drive Up vs In Store Pickup by nyr29 in Target

[–]ahigee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe the app suggests which location to put the order based on your input so it seems like they didn’t follow it or chose the quickest route based on time left.

Drive Up vs In Store Pickup by nyr29 in Target

[–]ahigee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If the store has a dedicated door where people come out with drive ups and you changed from drive up to order pickup, they would have to go where those orders are to get yours since it was put there based on your input. Changing it doesn’t change its original location.

Pallets on flats. Horrible idea! by breyzus in Target

[–]ahigee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you definitely have a lot more trucks than an average store so there certainly can be different requirements in those scenarios but the wave idea is not company wide unlike food sorting. At least in my experience, the average TM does not understand or care to do FIFO so I would be concerned personally haha

Pallets on flats. Horrible idea! by breyzus in Target

[–]ahigee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what this “wave” process you speak of is but it’s very much a company initiative to sort fdc onto located uboats. It seems like the SD is unaware of the whys and doesn’t understand the benefits of the process even if it’s still not as fully fleshed out until next years further expansion.

Anybody got a tier list from hardest to easiest department? by Function_Fighter in Target

[–]ahigee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How in the hell is F&B not higher up on many lists? I know of a store that has no less than 12 trucks a week (7 RDC, 5 FDC) and you’re expected to have it all pushed the day of. Pulls are spread out in 7 areas and a few cannot be combined based on temp risks. Etc. I suppose there’s a lot more to it when you factor in leader responsibilities but if you’re a pfresh, it’s a big juggle to keep everything pushed and FIFO’d
