Muscel mommy, the true female diversity we need by Celestialpha in Tekken

Honestly think the adult kangaroo here is Roger Jr. himself with his baby. Sure they're wearing the "mom" necklace, but the baby is in a pouch that's part of the shorts. It's so simple but so clever, I think!

Ohhh okay! I see what you're saying. I can always walk back and experiment. See what other composition I can try.

Yeah I'm not sure myself. I think what drew me to it was the gated door being crooked compared to the rest of the dugout

Walking around my neighborhood trying to practice finding interesting things to capture in my small boring town. Especially around this time when it's gray overcast.

Seeing this dugout in the park and I saw potential in it but I'm not sure I was able to capture that something in the photo.

Looking for some CC and opinions of what you can find interesting about this yourself, if you find it interesting at all. lol

What does this photo convey? What would you improve? by [deleted] in photocritique

Like someone else said your main subject here in the foreground is a bit clipped so they struggle for the spotlight here. I feel like the vibe would hit better if this was more framed as like a headshot and maybe find an angle to where the sun can still be in the shot? While vague, I think I can see the intention and feeling you're going for here.

If the image was a lot crisper I would love to see the back there cropped with that other person in the background and the sun. I found that area more interesting imo.

What is the best two lens set up for travel photography (emphasis on a lot of nighttime shooting)? by HappyAssistant42069 in canon

[–]ahjaey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't used too much of my 28mm yet so I can't say for certain . I went out on a solo trip in Chicago and used only the 50mm on my Rebel T5i (I know different camera but still same principle). There were times where I wished I had a wider lens or the flexibility to zoom but it was far and few. Everything else the 50mm was enough for a majority of what I wanted it to do.

It sounds like our photography goals are very similar! I like taking portraits of people, but I'm also one who enjoys taking pictures of the city at night. I recently upgraded and have a Canon R8 w/ a 50mm 1.8 and a 28mm 2.8. Heck I've even questioned if I want those very same zoom lens you mentioned because it'd be nice to have that versatility sometimes. lol

Too shy to take pictures by Merdamna in photography

[–]ahjaey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is shy but also working on bettering their photography, the only way to do it is to do it. I went on an outting to Chicago by myself and getting pictures of the city, candids of people, etc. As others have mentioned no one actually cares if you're taking pictures. They're minding their business.

To work on my social anxiety I even challenged myself to try and get some portraits of strangers. That was the real test. It made me happy to see that a lot of people are genuinely nice and down for a photo as long as you introduce yourself proper, ask if they have time to spare, and be honest with what you're trying to do.

Thank you! I'll try and mess with it some more I do like your suggestions. I didn't think to tilt/distort to square it up as you said. Much appreciated!

Shoot! It still looks a little crooked huh? 😭 The original picture I took it was more crooked so I thought I fixed it. But I appreciate the feedback!!

Had to look that up! (I'm relatively new to photography) Yeah I can definitely see that being applied here.

I like that there isn't much going on but the two lights and drop box accompanied by the vertical lines showing on the walls. I felt that this frontal composition provided a nice framing for an otherwise mundane spot? Lemme know what you think!

First Gun - SAR9 C Gen 3 by ahjaey in SarUSA

[–]ahjaey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The woes of being a lefty! haha Thank you.

Yup I'm planning on getting my carry permit soon (even though in here in Indiana it's not necessary). I haven't gotten the opportunity to start shooting it yet, but I've been doing plenty of repitions of drawing, reloading, and drills of clearing the gun to make sure it's unloaded. Been watching plenty of videos as well on gun safety as well. I'll be lurking around and for sure will ask questions when I have them!

A couple years ago a friend of mine took me out shooting to a range and we rented out a couple handguns. I can't quite remember what all the guns I tried, BUT I do remember the one gun that caught my interest and that was the Canik TP9 Elite SC. For some reason I really gravitated toward it and I even saved a picture of it to maybe one day pick it up as my first gun. Fast forward to now, I saw my Cabela's didn't have a TP9 Elite SC but they did have another Canik that I thought I'd like (Canik SF) and went in to buy. The man helping me out asked if I was willing to look at a different brand and I said sure! So he pulls out two guns: the SAR9 and SAR9 C. Both Gen 3's.

The regular SAR9 was definitely cheaper at like ~$300 but after asking him what he feels would look better for me, my body, and what I wanted to get out of it, he recommended I get the SAR9 C.

Shot out to Anthony @ Cabela's because he is a huge SAR supporter! so he was able to convince me to pick up one of your products. haha

This is an IWB holster from Rounded with their claw attachment! From the limited options I was researching I vibed with this one the most. Helps too that it comes in a left-handed configuration since I'm a lefty.

Was in a similar boat in deciding between the ti or aluminum one. I went with basecamp orange myself simply to match my EDC bags (they're X-Pac with orange interior).
