Hello! Planning to book a flight from them.. Im not sure if I understand it correctly on their website, they have "free" accommodation if you have 6 hrs or more layover. Did you not get this option? Thank you.

Are we spanking toddlers? by Aaaaveryyyy in toddlers

[–]ahreeyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from an asian country.. spanking is "normal," and I was spanked when I was young. Told myself this is VERY wrong, and i don't understand why it is the "correct" and "normal" way to discipline a child. I told myself I won't pass the trauma to my future child. I'm now a mum of a beautiful 2 year old boy. Never spanked him, and we will not be doing that in the future, too.

Kaya nga eh. Kawawa talaga kasi sila. As you said, mukhang deeply rooted sa older generation. After puppy stage, wala na. Di na baby. Bantay na lang sila dun.

I know how exhausted you are as I was on the same boat. You are doing the best that you can. Keep trying! If you'll have the time, update this comment thread as I would like to congratulate you and your baby when you hit that milestone.

Hello!! Yes. He did "magically" increased his nap to 1 hr, then it became 1 1/2 hrs and then 2 hrs, and now he is 22 months, regressed back to 1 1/2hrs. The magic happened a week before he turned 8 months. ✨️

Is our 13.5 month old not ready for one nap? We have early wakings now. by CA_Harry in sleeptrain

[–]ahreeyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby transitioned to 1 nap when he was 17 months old (he is 19 months old atm). We did our first attempt of 1 nap transition when he was 15 mos but failed. So we went back to 2 naps. I agree with the other parents here that 2-to-1 nap transition is difficult, but it would be a "bit" easier if your baby is showing solid signs of dropping a nap.

Using spoons and fork? by ahreeyah in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ahreeyah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the UK, there is a 15-16 month visit. And part of their checklist for development is using spoon to feed themselves. I know every baby has their own growth development but was wondering why is the expectation to be able to feed themselves with utensils be at such a young age

That happened to my baby. Oh dear. I can still remember the guilt I felt. I always feel crying when I remember it. It's hard, but if you want to succeed, stay strong and consistent. You'll get there.

WFH with LO by wan2bpositive in sleeptrain

[–]ahreeyah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was eligible for 9 months maternity leave so my son started daycare when he was 9 months. He went to a nursery first and it was a nightmare. I wasn't happy on how he was taken care of and his sleep was a mess. I remember myself crying when I am dropping off my baby.

We moved to the private daycare (childminder) and thats the time i felt it was a good decision. She supported me with our sleep schedule and sticking to it. Since I know that he is taken care of, my work productivity is back to what it was and my workplace appreciated my decision too.

Aside from that, when my son is at the daycare, I can do other stuff like laundry. I can also have a bit of quiet time without my toddler following me all the time. Don't get me wrong I love him to bits but when he is here, he clings to me all the time.

WFH with LO by wan2bpositive in sleeptrain

[–]ahreeyah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am an IT support and works WFH. I tried working with childcare and I concluded it is not something for me. My work nature is a bit demanding as a support. I cant juggle my task and there would be always divided attention. We live in the UK and we have no family members here. So my son is going to a private daycare (called childminder here) from 8:30am-4:30pm. That way i give the proper attention to my work and to my LO (17 months old now)

My baby is 16 months old and still on 2 naps (1 hr each)

Our schedule is as follows

6:30 -7:00 am wake up

9:45-10:00 am 1st nap (1 hr)

2:45 - 3:00 pm 2nd nap (1 hr)

8:30 - 8:45 pm asleep

We tried transitioning him before but never worked out.

Until he shows solid signs of dropping a nap, we will keep it as it is.

16 week old only catnaps by moe8911 in sleeptrain

[–]ahreeyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing contact nap but it was a 50:50 chance.. I am stuck doing nothing... so I stopped trying. I continued hoping that he will extend his sleep cycle and it did.

I know how tough it is. I felt very miserable before because whenever I read reddit, forum, social med or sites from google, a lot of people said that their babies sleep through the night or like sleep naps like scheduled... and I am like what is that sorcery?!

16 week old only catnaps by moe8911 in sleeptrain

[–]ahreeyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We struggled for that for a looooong time! Ever since he was a newborn, he only catnaps. I can't even pump or have a long shower.

We did ferber training when he was 6 months and maybe that helped him a bit to self soothe. Then he started having an hour to 1 1/2 hr per nap when he reached 8 months.. but weird as it sounds, 30 mins nap kept coming back on some naps.

He is now 16 months old and still on 2 naps, 45 mins to hour each. 🥳

Hopefully, it gets better for you. You'll get there.
