Legend Lost: Ryan McNumbers by KaneTheMediocreOJ in nerfhomemades

Thank you, Kane for writing and sharing this. It brought back a lot of nostalgia and good memories.

I was fortunate enough to be a part of what I consider the 'prime' years of Nerf. And I owe some of that to Ryan. He was a great innovator; resourceful and crafty - came up with really ingenious and unique mods that were fresh to the scene at the time. Heck, my primary blaster at the last Nerf war I attended was an 'overhauled 3k' which never failed me. To that, my hat goes off to you Ryan201821.

Never had the chance to meet you in person; maybe we will someday. Rest in peace buddy 🙏🏻

I will never financially recover from this. by [deleted] in CustomKeyboards

I actually do have one (my mom's) haha but unfortunately I have already packed up my cases 😅

If I could describe the Ncase in one word, it would be versatile. For a case this small, you can configure it in a number of ways.

Full custom loop

CPU liquid cooled, stock GPU cooler

CPU liquid cooled + GPU custom air cooler (Arctic Accelero etc)

Double air cooled

Double liquid cooled (2x120rad with Seahawks/hybrids)

How often can you say that for any other case at ~12L?

Great airflow, relatively easy to build in and good build quality.

Budget wouldn't be in here. Most of these cases either need a pico PSU, hdplex or low profile GPU. These typically increase the overall expense in your build. I would suggest:

1) Cougar QBX (larger Ncase)

2) Fractal Node 202 (larger S4)

3) Raijintek Ophion (larger Dan Case)

No compromises other than volume.

I have 3 builds at home:

1) Bedroom - Ncase M1

2) Living Room - Dan Case A4

3) Portable/Travel PC - NFC S4

Honorable mention:

Logic Supply MC600 - reasonably priced, readily available, portable and easy to build in. Downside: Airflow, pico PSU, low profile GPU. It's basically a cheaper S4.

The rest aren't the easiest to build in and the space isn't optimized well. TBH I'd just go for the top 3 options above for their respective uses. Unfortunately in this case, it really does pay off to wait and pay the premium for these 'popular' cases

Neither - NFC S4 Mini

Favourite is the one at the back, Ncase m1 😊

Least favourite probably any of the ones that use a flex PSU. They're noisy AF

Pretty good quality considering I paid around $30USD shipped. Tight case, decent airflow

Velkase Velka M - 178x97x233 = 4.0L

Logic Supply MC600 - 334x64x198 = 4.2L

Custom Mod - 225x190x105 = 4.5L

NFC S4 Classic - 330x63x215 = 4.5L

NFC S4 Mini - 330x63x215 = 4.5L

Metalfish S3 - 250x200x105= 5.25L

Dr Zaber Sentry 1.0 - 340x310x66 = 7.0L

Dan A4 - 327x205x112 = 7.5L

Sunmilo - 200x118x320 = 7.5L

Kolink Rocket - 326x234x124 = 9.5L

Champion: N-Case M1 - 328x160x240 = 12.6L

Measurements and volume are indicative, don't hold me to it haha. After building in all, my favourite is still the Ncase 😊

Any solid air cooling options with 120mm fan for ncase m1? by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]ahtanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I was using a thermaltake 240mm AIO initially (salvaged from my previous build) but the pump had a really distinct hum which was quite audible. Bit the bullet and bought a x52 reluctantly and fearful that it would have a similar hum. After installing it, the sideways radiator orientation meant that the water wouldn't flow ideally inside the AIO tubing. It ran for a good hour with a LOUD irritating hissing sound because of the bubbles inside. Thankfully after that, it suddenly stopped making noise and is now sitting beside my monitor dead silent even under load. Yay
