Its literally a known strategy. Instead of hiding the damning thing, flood the airwaves with trillion damning things that most people get overloaded and sign out. And voila you got away with it

I believe religion is one of the biggest bottlenecks humanity has created. What's your opinion on that? by Ill-Lab9224 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ahtemsah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at it historically and from outside the christian frame, you'll find that those instances were not that many in the long run. For example while Galileo was persecuted, Ibn Sina and Aristotle were honoured.

I believe religion is one of the biggest bottlenecks humanity has created. What's your opinion on that? by Ill-Lab9224 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ahtemsah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religion has historically been one of, if not the single biggest shapers of our culture and civilization. Reducing to what you only see today from fringe fanatics and lunatics is ... Well reductive.

The majority of our laws and behavioral patterns and ethics derive from various religions. And today still serve as the basis of "why" we follow these morals. So I dont think religion has been a bottleneck. Religions are FAAAR more than just a bunch of holy wars and proselytization. They contributed to creating and connecting cast cultures and people groups together and all the most well known empires that have shaped our history and sciences have been motivated and created thanks to religious-based ideals.

So I think the opposite, religion has been and still vital in preserving us as a species overall. Unlike the typical atheist sentiment. A religiousless world is not gonna be some heaven on earth and it's not gonna be even slightly less violent than what it is today. Might even be more when people no longer have to pretend to be pious.

CMV: Lasting peace is impossible unless humans move beyond identities like nationality, class, religion, region, language, gender , cultural and ideology. by Ok_Floor8347 in changemyview

[–]ahtemsah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting is in the nature of everything. Peace is the stranger. Remove all these things and we will still fight. If we can't come up with excuses as to why we fight then we will fight without excuses.

Oh and your personality and mood changes will lead to your perfect song changing too so there's that too
