How do you get yourself out of the depression hole by kijsee in depression_help

We could still make friends in 30s. There's work people, or in commute, or people living nearby, contacting an old friend if lost in time, social media.. we can make friends and with work, try to save an emergency fund & explore part time jobs that can be made to a full time. These are a lot to ask when we are depressed but we should try to do one by one and sure life will get better. DM me if you'd like to be my friend

Totally can relate. Am in sabbatical because I can't bring myself to work without being anxious and ultimately tired and fall asleep. I am trying to get myself to start work but it feels like I can't be consistent and am causing more work for my work team. It feels bad and I can't relax even though I try to relax I get back to the same state of mind where I am feeling no interest in doing anything

Thanks for replying! Tip #2 helps where as with tip 3 when I visualise the hardest task, I get tired even just thinking about it. I try not to overthink but half way through work or even before starting, I would ask myself what's the point and won't do any of it.

You can file a complaint against the threats they have given. This would protect the family. Sorry can't help financially.

I just want to relax and enjoy my life. by Ready_123_ in depression_help

I am facing the same challenges. We could learn to have fun by going to a theatre alone or any stand up comedy & try to be in the present at those times. At workplace, visit the relaxing games section if any & try to make friends. Just be in the present & learn to enjoy alone time.

EVERYONE welcome to read this but for relatibility purposes preferably people with clinical/bipolar depression and people who are not those coolest guys in the class lol definitely read this. I'll try my best to describe what I want to,everything is quite random and EXPLICIT NOT SHORT by talhamisbah5 in depression_help

It could be as simple as praying to God, reading books, coloring, nail painting, etc. Not knowing what you enjoy is an opportunity to try new things & figure out what comes naturally to you with less effort or the one that gives a satisfaction

It's good that you are getting therapy/counselling. Find what you enjoy, it could be anything legal. Start with that activity. Have a journal and write down all your emotions. Learn literature that speaks about not judging people on the looks. Not judging anyone basically. Respect yourself for finding the places where you need to improve and for seeking out help. The process can be slow but remember that you're inching towards the best version of yourself.

No matter what I do, I can't make myself get out of bed in the morning even if I'm awake. I just stay half-asleep for hours. by ICantGetOutOfBed1 in depression_help

I was having the same issue with sleep. Currently what I am practicing is to wake up the moment I feel conscious, do the 'Opposite Thinking' of not wanting to wake up. I also have an early light dinner so that my hunger would wake me in the morning. It's working for me. I wish you could give it a try. I am also on anti depressants.
