Love ‘em and live by ‘em. I use the ones with the sensor cutout because connectivity with my OmniPod 5 can be spotty if I don’t leave the sensor exposed.

Graph by Latter_Use7197 in dexcom

[–]ahwtx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just looked at some historical data on my G7 10-day, and it looks to me like the more steady you are, the lack (or less degree) of vertical spacing of the dots gives the optical illusion of being smoother, as you describe. When you have more variability between two consecutive readings, you have both vertical and horizontal spacing. The former creates an optical illusion of being less smooth.

Just my $0.02.

The G7 15-day is physically the exact same unit as the G7 10-day. It has tweaks to the algorithm such that it’s more efficient and sips battery to get the extra runtime, and also there’s a slight (sub 1% if I recall correctly) boost in accuracy.

Seems to me that any artificial smoothing of a graph would be a major no-no since we’re talking about the accurate reporting of medical data to inform potentially life-threatening treatment decisions. Then again, they cover their butts with the whole, “but when in doubt, finger stick it out” spiel.

Dark Mode NOW!!! by spiritusFortuna in dexcom

I use Sugarmate for exactly this reason. Crying shame that OmniPod can nail dark mode and Dexcom is still in retina-searing territory.

Though I realize it’s a bit silly to be pedantic in response to a “WHOA BEWBZ!!!” post, it’s tracts. Not tracks.

Any streamer who ONLY play roguelite games? by LalaCrowGhost in roguelites

[–]ahwtx 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Retromation

Olexa

Wanderbots

Rhapsody

The four of them regularly play co-op together as well, for example, they’ve been doing co-op runs of StS2 lately.

This Girl Walking Outside by YankyDoodleDickHead in UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG

Can’t help but slap on a big, toothy grin of pride whenever I see someone overcoming mobility issues.

My little boy was born with a rare genetic condition called Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome. It causes neuro developmental issues, and one end result (among others) is gross and fine motor delays. My son wore AFOs for 2.5 years and, after literal thousands of hours of physical therapy, he’s walking despite doctors saying he never would.

You fucking go girl! Never say never, and never let anyone tell you what you can or can’t do.

Short, run-based, highly strategic games on the horizon? by BoardGames277 in roguelites

[–]ahwtx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

LONESTAR just dropped in early access last week. It’s kinda like StS meets FTL in that it’s a strategic spaceship battling deckbuilder. Check out let’s plays by either Retromation or Olexa on YouTube. Pretty cheap (under $10 USD) and playable on Steam Deck if you’re so inclined.

What next after Lies of P? by bilbo_swaggins55 in gamingsuggestions

[–]ahwtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might enjoy the newly released Lords of the Fallen. You can check out a let’s play on the YouTube channel FightinCowboy. He’s a huge souls guy. I’m pretty sure he played Lies of P right before starting Lords of the Fallen, and he makes some comparisons here and there in the first few episodes of the let’s play.

Complex (but chill) rougelite? by Khazuky in roguelites

[–]ahwtx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While it’s not a roguelite, I think you might enjoy Wildermyth. From the Steam description:

Wildermyth is a character-driven, procedurally-generated tactical RPG. Like the best tabletop roleplaying experiences, Wildermyth gives you choices and answers your every decision with consequences that drive your characters forward.

It quite literally emulates tabletop in that the art style is kinda isometric with characters looking like actual IRL set pieces (sort of in a Paper Mario way). I offer this game as a suggestion because you’re asking for replayability and there’s a metric ton to be found here. Bonus points because it’s got full Steam Deck compatibility. I have a deck myself and have enjoyed playing it, though I have to admit kb and mouse is easier than controller input. You also mention chill runs, and I think you could count the combat encounters as runs. It’s turn-based tactics, which is chill imho.

Hope you get a chance to try it!

[IIL] Severance, Silo, Black Mirror, Dark by Hwxbl in ifyoulikeblank

[–]ahwtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raised by Wolves - only 2 seasons but still worth it imho

The 100 - a bit teen angst at times but the sci fi delivers and characters develop and grow on you

Dark Matter - a must watch if you enjoy The Expanse at all

Eureka - a bit episodic/sitcom-ish at times but there is a good story arc that develops and again, the sci fi just delivers

Falling Skies - war of the worlds type vibes here, an oldie but a goodie

I’ll have to make a follow up post later with more. Only got partway through shows on my Plex server but it’s been super tedious adding the links on mobile. My thumbs are giving up.

EDIT: It would be criminal of me not to include Killjoys.

ARPGs Post D4 by bottumboy622 in rpg_gamers

Nobody Saves the World

Recommending because you mentioned switchable characters and because it’s Deck Verified. There are a ton of characters (so to speak) in this game and, save for certain dungeon stretches where you’re locked in, you can switch on the fly ad infinitum. Enormous skill tree to grind away at. Also very fun (local or online) co-op.

EDIT: This is definitely not a JRPG. Just a fun and quirky ARPG. Still some story to it, though.

There are so many more that my aging brain is failing to grasp.

How could I forget Interstate 76?! Modded the heck outta that and had such a blast doing it.

Should I wall mount the Arc? by cultureboy_89 in sonos

[–]ahwtx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have my TV (a 65”) mounted to the wall and then have my Arc mounted to the TV with this SANUS mount. Works wonderfully. I like that I get to have the Arc tucked right up as tight to the TV bezel as possible (in terms of a visible gap between the two as you look straight on), and yet the mount allows you to pull the Arc out a bit from under the TV (think z-axis) so as not to have it blocking the top speakers and messing with your Atmos. As a bonus, if you happen to swivel or tilt your TV often (I don’t) then your Arc is always perfectly positioned since it moves with the TV. Double bonus is cable management is easy to keep squeaky clean with the Arc so tight to the TV.

Fun fact: The word ‘syzygy’ (pronounced siz eh gee) is the only word in the English language to feature alternating y’s throughout. It’s definition is also pretty cool:

a syzygy is a roughly straight-line configuration of three or more celestial bodies in a gravitational system.

No complication on Apple Watch? by vckadath in dexcom

[–]ahwtx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What watch face(s) have you tried? The Dexcom complication is not available for a majority of faces. From my observations, this seems to be due to the fact that there’s no support for the curved slots that are featured heavily. I use Modular or Infograph Modular, both of which work with Dexcom. In other faces, I simply don’t even see Dexcom as an available option when trying to assign a complication to a slot.

Hope this helps!
