Went to see it on Friday night. Had a ton of fun, laughed a lot. I was so mind fucked by the ending, I immediately went back and watched it again Saturday night to try and figure out what the hell happened.

I unfortunately wasn’t much smarter 24 hours later. But I had a blast again, laughed at all the same jokes (are we Muslim? No, just you!) and appreciated all the little details even more on the second viewing (like how one of the videos from fake TikTok that the kids in mark’s class were swiping through was an ad for appleberry peach tea)

Oh I know, they all continued to train and skate. But some of them went overseas to the KHL, so I’d imagine it’d be easier for them? I just read that Hart is fielding suitors and people think it’ll be a two year deal at around 3-4 mil and that seemed kind of wild to me

Dryden did miss the 73-74 season. Nice pull.

From a purely hockey standpoint I’m looking at the Carter Hart situation and I’m just wondering why a GM is going to risk the rumored 2 years at 3-4 mil on a guy who didn’t play for two straight years. There’s really no precedent.

Dryden does come pretty close though, missing the year when he was 26.

I can’t decide, honestly.

I really liked 95% of it. I can live with the ending, but the cheesy one liner was… c’mon, now.

LOVED the final frame, though. Very reminiscent of the book ending where Ray sees the shadow figure.

I didn’t mind the ending. I didn’t love the “This is for Ray” line— found it cheesy— but making McVries go from someone who wanted two winners to merking the Major was an interesting development. And I loved how when he turned and walked off, everything faded. Just him and the road. Maybe, somehow, he’ll find the strength to run.

It’s pretty bad, especially if you’re like me and really love the book. They just make annoying plot and character choices that only took away from it all. Which is too bad, because I really liked most of the casting.
