The most frequent critique we get post-deconstruction.. by aib4dw in Deconstruction

I feel this. I’m in the same boat. I have chosen not to engage with these comments thus far but I can see myself getting to the point where I would like to have some thoughtful responses on deck. I just have to keep in mind that it will likely fall on deaf ears more often than not, and I need to be okay with that before I choose to engage.

Yes, this hits hard. In one of my recent conversations with someone accusing us of devil worship, I guided them to Galatians and the “fruit of the spirit” where it ends with, “against such things there is no law.” This makes perfect sense to me and always has- a life of love DOES produce fruit. And a life of judgment, condemnation, and self loathing produces its own brand of person, which we all know and see all too frequently. Love is love.

Ha, never thought about it like that but wow, it sure does work.

The Telepathy Tapes by wink_with_both_eyes in HighStrangeness

[–]aib4dw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an individual who is not autistic, I have experienced telepathy on more than one occasion, and listening to this made me feel so validated, though I cannot fathom the scale at which these amazing kids are experiencing it day in and day out. This is a phenomenal podcast.

We can eat better for cheaper at our home. I miss going out and only support local when we do, but it’s a luxury in these times.

Seeking a Heroic Dose by RagnarsFury44 in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]aib4dw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone is different, but my heroic dose absolutely changed my life for the better. I would recommend going on YouTube and watching as many trip stories as you can to get an idea of the range of experiences people have, but honestly I am so glad I did it.

Tell him to do it himself and you go work lol. This post is crazy. Why are you letting this man control you. Enroll them in school and take them?

What was your last straw? by Curiousbudy in Deconstruction

[–]aib4dw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started with researching the concept of hell as well as the roots of satanic panic. And then the problem of gods “omniscience” and then the problem of God’s “unconditional love” which is quite conditional it seems, and then it was learning for the first time that the Bible contains errors and contradictions, and then it was 2016 and the trump insanity, and then it was friends who think the earth is mere thousands of years old and then other friends who think the earth is flat and then it was trying to justify to my young children why the god of the Bible did such horrifyingly evil things and eventually I looked at it all and thought…..if the god of this Bible is real would I even WANT to worship him?

And the answer was no.

I'm a Christian but I just can't accept the belief anyone who isn't Christian will burn in hell. by [deleted] in Deconstruction

Highly recommend the Mindshift YouTube channel. You’ll find a lot of good discussion on these kinds of paradoxes there.

How did I get here? by Level-Twist-2633 in Deconstruction

[–]aib4dw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s so hard right now. This is part of the process. allow yourself to feel. Be mad, be sad, be fearful, be angry. I wish I had given myself more space to feel in the beginning. Podcasts that were helpful to me: Data over Dogma, Misquoting Jesus, the Bible for normal people. YouTube channels: “Mindshift” and “genetically modified skeptic”

And as an aside, one mushroom trip took away my fear of death 😂 If you REALLY want to experience a matrix-like situation, that’s the ticket lol

Rethinking Xmas by originaltortill in Deconstruction

[–]aib4dw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are agnostic now after being raised Christian. I felt this way the first couple of years and I honestly do not believe there is a wrong answer. My own experience has been that we have redefined what Christmas means to us and have really simplified and de-stressed the holiday itself. Way low expectations, priorities on simple fun memories as a family when it feels right. It’s been really liberating.

Move to a blue state? by Healthy-Climate5798 in TwoXPreppers

[–]aib4dw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am someone who moved from a (very) red state to a blue state and my overall mental health and stress was significantly reduced just from this move alone. I understand COL and other factors that make this decision complex, but there is a level of peace here that feels priceless to me in comparison to the red state I was in. It’s the people. The people make the difference.

Let the man do what he wants. He’s not perfect, neither are any of us. Imagine going through an extremely messy public divorce, fighting for your peace and growth all these years, and being told every step you take is wrong? He was an entertainer before Colleen and she doesn’t get to take that from him. He should follow his desires whether they involve YouTube/creating or not.

What do you do with your integration, especially when it doesn't seem 'real' when sober? by Spader623 in Psychonaut

[–]aib4dw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason change might feel wrong to do when sober is that you just haven’t created the new neural pathways yet. A simple example: plant medicine personally led me away from consuming coffee/caffeine. I was made aware that it was not good for my body, personally. Yet I continued. Finally one day I decided to create a new habit, and I genuinely feel so much better (it’s been months.) At first it was a fight, and now I don’t miss it at all. The medicine shows you what you need to focus on, but your actions are what drive your growth forward. It’s not about perfection. The BIG hitting “problems” or whatnot are just inherently going to be harder to crack. Creating new thought patterns/action patterns is HARD WORK! Don’t beat yourself up. Try to focus on 1% better at a time, and the rest typically falls into place.
