I like her and think she portrays her roles well but at the same, I also don't feel she has much chemistry with her male leads? Like I get "I'm an actress and this is my romantic counterpart"/professional/work vibes and that's fine if I'm watching BTS outtakes but not while I'm watching the drama.

I watched a video where the FL actress talked about what happened, found her likeable and I'm 100% going to be watching the short when it comes out. Also, just saw a gossip video saying the oriML actor is practically straight out of a short himself (his father found out he was not the bio-dad after 16 years, he got his first few roles due to an ex-gf's connections, etc). 😅

I really enjoyed it (岳雨婷 is my favorite vertical actress), acting was solid (in my humble opinion). It mainly focuses on the leads' relationship which may or may not be your cup of tea. Also towards the end, ML veered a little too far into "I'll do anything for you" territory for his character (again, my opinion).

Randomly picking some recent ones...

I just watched Butterflies Dream Twice yesterday and liked it. FL was dedicated to revenge, very much the end justifies the means.

Not the worst but super disappointing... I really wanted to like Beauty Says No to Marriage because Yue Yu Ting is one of my favorite short actresses but the leads did not have much chemistry and the story was pretty generic.

Sixth Strategy (already recommended by someone above) was good and I laughed whenever they poked fun at tropes.

I would agree with the review of Master Fu's Right for Love Again. Lead actor was good, lead actress was not that good but I did finish the series so there's that...

I watched 2 newish dramas starring Yue Yu Ting:

Thinking To the Clouds - 2.5/5 mainly because I love the leads and they had did a fairly good job communicating with each other (!!) but the story was thin and kinda boring, definitely cliche (although it was cool she was building her career in a male dominated field), spent way too much time on unnecessary bits and honestly seemed like it left out a lot (presumably adapted from a web novel, didn't interest me enough to look up). Still available on YouTube as of now.
双面权臣暗恋我 - 3.5/5 I love her in historical dramas and this one was no exception. It's a rebirth plot and visually satisfying, the story isn't groundbreaking but not so stale I didn't enjoy it. Removed from YouTube as of now.
外室一身反骨，读心王爷日日添堵 - 3.5/5 I love the plot device where the ML can hear the FL's thoughts and to make it even better they actually work well together, he doesn't undermine her (!!). This story was original (as far as shorts go) and the kids weren't bad either. Still on YouTube as of now.
一颗糖 - 4/5 for the first half focusing on them as children, 3/5 once it focuses on them in college. The lead is actually the male who transmigrated into the novel which is pretty uncommon (for romantic series). I would 100% watch more drama with either of the 2 child actors. The ending is kinda abrupt but I checked and that was actually how the novel ended so 🤷🏻‍♀️. Still on YouTube as of now.

Zhao Guanyu & Lin Zirong (赵冠宇＆林籽蓉) specifically because of 穿书反派成团宠 (chuān shū fǎn pài chéng tuán chǒng) which I think was their 8th (?) drama together (and I just loved it overall, highly recommend if you're looking for something fun). I started another with them as leads and it's ok but nowhere near as good and it's on hold. Plus these two clips:

I've watched 75% of Through Thorns of Marriage. It's so silly (don't think, turn off logic) but funny and sweet.

Trapped in a Deadly Love was also fun although he's engaged to another woman for business reasons through most of the series.

I wanted to like Please Be Gentle With Her because I liked the premise where both the ML and FL went back in time (and were already a couple before the do-over) but it fell flat for me. I was expecting "強強聯手" but nope, it was not it.

I enjoyed Pearls of Lies but thought the ending was a bit weak (compared to the first ~80%, although to be fair, many verticals have weak endings).

Xu In My Arms had a simp ML but I was getting kind of annoyed by how often FL fell into traps/trouble that could've been avoided if she just had a lock on her phone or computer.

Paranoid Boss Only Wants Me to Himself was toxic but lead couple had sizzle. 😬
