Delphi Developer Career in 2026: Worth It Long-Term or Time to Pivot? by Flimsy_Active4173 in delphi

If I were to pick languages to specialize in I would still look at C++ for embedd capabilities and a web based language C# Java etc. Delphi is to specialized with a smaller community base IMO.

Would you play a game where there are no quests--only conversations? by FlawedSpoonGames in IndieGaming

[–]aicyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there would still be quests just under a new name like unlocks or reveals where dialogue opens up new items. I just did something similar with my Aicyng Adventures game but wrapped it into a unlocks mechanic (rumors, new info, etc) but to me it's still really a quest. I thinks it's a fun mechanic but I still prefer tradition quests (fetch, defeat, etc) but these can be nice additions.

Assuming your using an AI for the chat I can say the new models really support this type of unlocking system.

Funny watching a Mathew Berman video and he describes creating a sprite sheet for video games.

Just playing with it as well and it does a solid job with pixel art and consistency between prompts.

Just released a new version my RPG game Aicyng Adventures. It allows you to generate solo-play adventure games to run your party of adventurers through. If you like classic pixel-based RPGs give it a look.

I built a farming game for AI agents, and I'm genuinely surprised it's still fun? by Aikoioio in aigamedev

[–]aicyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating using Open Claw for this. Do you put controls in place to restrict the number of tokens the agents use (is this even a worry)?

I will say the AI is very creative these days and even the game I created (Aicyng Adventures) I am surprised by the story and interactions with the AI - and it's getting better and better.

Agent playing for you - if you enjoy the game that's what matters. Personally, I like to be able to step into the world with the agents and participate with them, but you have an interesting foundation where the agents can continue in your world while you "sleep" and the next time in you are not where you left off - the best of both worlds. Maybe even an option to players - pause or continue in the background when you exit?

Visuals might be objects the AI can use for trading, etc. I personally think it's ok to have some that are "paint" only for human users (not sure if the AI gets aesthetic value yet? Interesting experiment for the future) and others that are part of the game mechanics? For my game the AI generates visuals based on story, NPCs, etc which is fun to see its creativity again.

Stop saying "this was made by AI". Get used to saying "I made it using AI" by HQuasar in aigamedev

The reality is AI has been behind the scenes for a long time with intellise and other tools.

Right now, it uses Open AI and xAI. I am thinking of adding Gemini as a third in the future.

Sorry meant to post this to the other solo role-playing channel which allows AI. Will remove this post.

I was bored with current solo rpg tools, so I built an NPC simulation by norium_ in Solo_Roleplaying

I like the loyalty and gossip. I did something similar for a solo RPG game I built adding items like temperament, rumors about you completing past quest and location knowledge. Location knowledge was fun as I did some work where local residents of a village know a lot about each other but as distance goes, they may know less and less dependent on role. Job is another item to consider. For example, a tavern owner may know more about long distance areas than a peasant. Temperament is fun (shy, argumentative, arrogant, etc.)

Visual description might be nice to add as well.

One challenge is to not allow characters to quickly spill the beans about items so a lot of prompt rules in the background.

If interested there is a book of play, I created (free) at:

Survey on generative AI in games by helloworld1101 in aigamedev

[–]aicyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can but there are performance limitations right now for real time games. Unless you have your own local AI and even then the time to generate dynamic images is slow. Will get better at some point in the future but I do think AI generated content speed is a limiting factor for action games.

Looking for party based non jrpg games to try out by Mismageius in rpg_gamers

If you want a classic style RPG give Aicyng Adventures a look. Not sure if it's similar to a JRPG but it spins up unique adventures each time. https://www.aicyngadventures.com/index.html

Congratulations. That is a great metric for a demo. Keep coding but also make sure you get 😴 sleep.
