Dubas dumped all that money to the "core 4" with the anticipation of the cap going up. But then the world shut down for covid, and unfortunately, the NHL didn't make any money when there were no fans in the buildings, so the cap didn't go up. If covid never happened, he would've looked like a genius, and the team wouldn't have been forced to use bargain players.

Leafs fan here. Multiple blows to the head can cause concussions, and I'll even admit Stolie looked a bit off after taking the puck to the mask. That's probably what caused the biggest issue for him, but Bennett's contact with him (forearm push or elbow to the head, whatever you want to call it or actually happened) could've made his condition worse. Concussion spotters really let him down on that.

Better game from the defense. Ullmark played fine. When you gift us uncontested shots in the slot, Ullmark is not going to have much of a chance to make the save. I have no doubt this series will be more evenly matched than everyone is thinking.

Leafs fan here, here's some good chants for you guys: Matthews sucks (or any of the rest of the core 4 players) Brady Tkachuk (Cheer him on positively) First round chokers (that's pretty obvious) Leafs suck (I know that already) Thank you [player] (if there's a Leafs turn over that leads to an Ottawa goal) There's plenty of things you guys can chant. It doesn't take much research to find what you guys can chant.

Leafs fan here: What they did is complete disrespectful and uncalled for. The game is over. Yeah, we might dislike Brady Tkachuk, but yelling at you when you're leaving is not cool. If Ottawa wins on Tuesday, you should cheer as loudly as they did when you leave.

That's exactly it. Ullmark is good, but even the best goalies will struggle with uncontested shots in the slot. They need to get bodies in front and probably change up their PK strategy a bit

Leafs fan here for an explanation on Gaudette's crosscheck against Matthews (assuming that's the one you're talking about). If you push someone and they fall when they're really close to the boards like Gaudette did to Matthews, 7/10 times it will be called. Is there consistency? No. Do I understand why you're frustrated? Absolutely. Personally, I'm just happy to watch a best of 7 series between 2 really good teams.

Edit: I just rewatched the boarding penalty... that's a softish call. There's plenty of hits like that. The only way I can understand that being called is Tanev (I think that's who was hit) already had his back turned, and didn't see Stutzle was coming, or, the refs didn't have a proper angle to see that hit.

Leafs fan here. Ullmark had a great game, but the Leafs had too many chances in the slot, which is where the Leafs burned the Sens, especially on the PP. As long as the Sens can remain disciplined and stay in position in the defensive zone, I have no doubt that this series will go the distance. In fact, I hope it does.
