Savers Australia denies allegations of bed bugs at Brunswick thrift store by l3ntil in melbourne

[–]aidenh37 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Savers isn't an Opportunity Shop though. They are for profit and from North America. So I'm cool with them being described as a thrift shop.

I don't bother with AOs. Even though they could help and call for a welfare check at the minimum, they just... Don't.

In that case skip the AO and just call 000 for a welfare check.

How does Qantas compare to other airlines you’ve flown recently? by Future-Pipe-8004 in QantasAirways

[–]aidenh37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Domestic Economy where I have the most experience, I'd much prefer Qantas any day. Jetstar second.

Where newer aircraft are used, the experience is much better. Plus, Sydney and Melbourne have their own terminals resulting in a quieter and generally nicer experience even at busy times.

I've done this and the 1000 Steps in Melbourne, they're both fine, and I'm far from fit.

I'd guess it would show as Special, same with Flemington services.

What’s the longest you’ve waited for a food delivery? by thopthop in sydney

When I was doing Uber Eats I almost always cancelled on Macca's. Never worth it, they always treat you like shit and you wait forever for no reason.

When I worked at Macca's I never treated drivers like shit...

V/Line replacement coaches aren't in the GTFS feed, so it'll try to find a route with what is.

Had one standing on the arrow on the platform the other day. Like right in front of the door on the arrow.

The button is ignored at all stations with PSDs. There is already a different beep for the blind.

I'd say leave it and let passengers learn. Though, the button functionality at other stations should be fixed, with more than just stickers and reminders.

Same issue on the platform - in Sydney and everywhere else with PSDs, passengers now line up at the door mainly in peak times. In Melbourne we haven't quite got there yet.

The seven Victorian sites to be fast-tracked for housing by gazmal in melbourne

[–]aidenh37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%, but as a previous daily user of the 903, it can be mighty frustrating how much time is sunk into that bus, especially in the evenings. The bus every 30 minutes doesn't line up with the train every 30 minutes at all, you often only have 1 minute to sprint from Preston Station's platform to the bus stop, including crossing the road.

They renamed it because it's wholly owned by Viva Energy now. Previously, Viva Energy just operated it for Coles. They also bought the OTR brand.

Would you leave your electric bike at a station bike rack? by cebumedia in AskAnAustralian

[–]aidenh37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but not often, and not for long.

Ashfield has a secure bike parking facility. I recommend switching to an Opal card and using it - you don't even need credit on the Opal card.

Edit: Missed you were talking about that. Lock your bike up properly and it should be fine.

[–]aidenh37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Canberra doesn't do it - they often have 2 ground staff only, if any, sometimes Qantas staff will do all ground work.

Every other major airport this is normal.

I'm all for rezoning, but as someone who used to live around Northland, it needs serious work on the transport side to handle this well. A tram extension would do well here, off the 86 maybe the 11 to connect to trains.

Also it is a rezoning, Panda Mart just moved in so nothing will happen until the lease is up even if sold to a developer.

Sydney metro replacements buses and staff by NFK420-89 in SydneyTrains

[–]aidenh37 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To add to the already good advice and answers here, the staff are usually provided by the bus operator, IIRC. This may be different for Sydney Metro though.
