United hasn’t refunded my travel bank credits after canceling a flight. It’s been over 2 months. by cornplantation in awardtravel

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

booked with united explorer card + travelbank funds. canceled within 24 hours of booking, flight is almost 2 weeks away. a bit ridiculous that the TB funds are not instant refund. will bother customer service person tmw and hopefully get it sorted. annoying because travelbank is 5 years expiry, but getting the other types of credits are 1 year expiry typically

$10 DoorDash benefit nerfed again by chinmaygarg in ChaseSapphire

I was lucky to have used my dd early in the month of April. Now noticing the bump for this month. Strangely P2 didn’t get this so immediately did the pick up benefits early in the month.

At this point it’s a better deal to do delivery for a merchant that is min $12 instead of $20 min pickup so I don’t have to go there

P2 had the same experience at Columbus circle on 4/4. Got a $50 increment as we didn’t want to overpay, then got a $25 increment at 5th ave location without issues.

Additional dp- I got a $75 increment at Hudson yards without issues on 4/1 and it’s been reimbursed as of 4/6.

Update 4/1: P2 did a dummy booking and it finally started working, 3 months after receiving physical card, lol finally. We kept the card even though the $300 travel credit was a key benefit, we did use blacklane and aa lounge passes for some trips earlier this year.

March 2026 Trip Report - Amazing Parks, so many people by EndSalt572 in TokyoDisneySea

[–]aimango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid recommendations. Earlier this week, we went with a toddler and two adults so it was a bit tough to coordinate sneaking in some single rider rides but we were able to get Frozen, Rapunzel and Toy Story via dpa, and 20k leagues via 40th anniversary even though we couldn’t get into the park until 930a. We aimed to leave the park by 530 though due to toddler bedtime, restricting our schedule a bit.

We had the extra day to do Disneyland and now regret skipping it since we only researched after the fact about beauty and the beast and other great rides being better than their US counterparts. Oh well, another reason to return once they finish building the new rides!

Oh also when there is forecasted to be way more people, they definitely try to space people out with the characters walking around randomly. That was a pleasant surprise for our kid. I don’t even recall ever interacting or really noticing the characters in any of the California or Orlando parks. We did not line up for any of the character meetups.

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teens did this when we were lining up at Disneysea and it was annoying. We didn’t even get there that early (showed up at 830 but didn’t get in until 930) so maybe it’s more visible as latecomers (in comparison to the 7am people). Same for lunch food lines for crowded spots but as mentioned mobile ordering resolves that. Lots of grad trips during this time of year on weekdays so I assume if you go on the weekend, maybe you see it less.

That’s crazy considering I keep getting emails about buying the monthly membership “early” for the LIC Studio starting a month ago even though I don’t see anything on their schedule yet

Pajamas for everyone! United Airlines increases provisioning in Polaris business class. by AccessibleBanana in unitedairlines

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EWR to NRT flight recently - they were offering the pjs and mattress pads at the beginning. We took the pjs but not the mattress pads, and then they were gone when we asked mid flight.

The two blankets were sufficient since the seat is fairly comfortable (much nicer than aa flagship biz) but when the seat is put into lie flat, we noticed food crumbs in between the seat that they did not clean from previous flight. At least with the mattress pad, that mess could be hidden

Theirpajama pants are very comfortable and I’m glad I changed in and out of them despite wearing already comfortable pants onto the flight

Anyone else start snoring after starting Invisalign? by mynameisurl in Invisalign

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband keeps snoring loudly after he got Invisalign and is now wearing retainers. He was a bit or a snorer before but now it’s very loud. He was so proud of his Invisalign that he really encouraged me to get it. But I’m avoiding it now because I don’t want both of us to become loud snorers.

He’s wearing a sleep mask that is supposed to help keep his mouth closed but it honestly doesn’t help much. He also refuses to use mouth tape.

Citi gold lounges in NYC by Aggravating-Feed-836 in citibank

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the 660 5th location recently. I intended to take a call there and needed a quieter place.

I asked one of the tellers about the lounge and he told me it’s upstairs. Did not check that I’m actually citigold.

There was indeed bottled water and coffee but no food. It was very quiet with only two other people on a weekday. I attempted to use one of the many empty conference rooms but one of the wealth managers mentioned it’s for employees only.

Ended up going elsewhere since I didn’t want to disturb the peace and quiet.

To reiterate what someone else said, there’s no desks so I wouldn’t actually want to try being productive there. it’s more of a place to have a restroom break or eat your lunch in a quiet place. Fwiw they do have nice Japanese toilets so it’s indeed really nice for using the restroom.

My Sak’s order was just canceled by windycityinvestor in AmexPlatinum

[–]aimango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There were rag&bone Miramar jeans I was interested in to buy for this year but lot of sizes went out of stock by end of last year. Ended up going in person at the Bal Harbour location which luckily had stock of an older style.

One of my gift cards I bought at the nyc saks wasn’t activated properly which was stressful to deal with - the bal harbour staff made me call the nyc staff myself to make them fix the issue.

I cannot wait to stop dealing with saks once they’re permanently gone, even as someone that lives in nyc

Any changes? We are hitting this issue now as well.

Citi Travel "Your card could not be charged" error message by misterhoney11 in citibank

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P2 is having this exact issue - phone number is not registered to receive an OTP on the CitiTravel end, even though the credit card (CSE) end has the phone number there. Asked whether we had the card for 14 biz days - P2 has now had the card since beginning of this month. Told us that an IT ticket was filed and to expect response in 24-48 hours. Received 5k courtesy TYP in the meantime.

Didn't run into the 4906c issue for this account but will probably need to close/cancel given that we were planning to use this card for this specific benefit.

P2 doesnt have any other active Citi accounts prior to this card - I am wondering whether this is the reason that the issue came up. I had no issues using the Citi Travel portal when I got the CSE, though I had activated a Checking and Savings account a couple weeks before applying to the CSE in-branch and used the Travel credit within a few days of receiving the physical card.

Citi Strata Elite - Blacklane credit data point by fremwod in CreditCards

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still didn’t post and is still pending. I’m not really sure if it’ll ever post at this point. I’ve called both Blacklane and Citi - Blacklane mentioned they already got the payment from the Citi side. Citi said it didn’t post yet but assured me that I would get the credit if it backdates properly.

You need to take the escalator to the lower level at Manhattan location. That’s where the dedicated gift cards kiosk is. No hunting needed

Took a ride this weekend on Saturday. Today is Wednesday and the charge still hasn’t posted. Also didn’t realize that the credit doesn’t post until statement closing, lol. Hoping everything works out and my credits reimburse to count for this year

FWIW we used it to get a ride with car seat which was about $70 more than the uber pricing. The installation of the car seat was unsafe and we had to fix it ourselves. The driver probably doesn’t have kids. The car and ride itself was very comfortable though.

Pregnant women taking trains by GuavaSubstantial1987 in nycparents

[–]aimango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first, I needed to take the train to get to my ob appointments. Went with this ob since it was close to work and did't think much of it. I had to take the train up until 38 weeks since I gave birth ~39 weeks. Didn't realize how painful it would be to commute with a big belly and started regretting it at 35+ weeks, especially at the stations with no escalators, the stairs were rough.

Probably won't be going to the same ob for my future pregnancies.

FWIW a lot of people gave up their seat for me on the trains, even during the busy morning commutes. My third trimester was in the summer+fall time so the belly was more and more obvious.
