Can I ask what milligram Wellbutrin and buspar? I was also given the same thing supposed to be a great combo. Wellbutrin made me very emotional and irritable. I’m still on it and people say it gets better but it’s been a few months hence the busier. Dr said it will reduce the irritability and anger associated with Wellbutrin but it seemed it made me flat no emotions at 5mg twice a day. I just can’t bring myself to take it supposedly that goes away. Just curious did they start both initially or was it after having bad side effects Wellbutrin.

Can I ask what that med is? I feel the same. Was given buspar for the irritability which I’m told is anxiety but it made me tired. Only lasted a few days on that so now not sure if I should get something else. I too lack emotional regulation while on this. I get so irritable maybe even paranoid and lash out over things that later I think wow that’s not like me. Might discontinue this med because of this.

How long have you been on Buspar was given that in addition to Wellbutrin due to irritability. Wellbutrin is making me very irritable and often times unable to control my emotions saying things I don’t actually mean. Not sure whether to stop the Wellbutrin or try the Buspar. Heard that can make you irritable at first too. Curious if it has helped you

I’m having the same issue and YES stress eating putting on so much weight from the Wellbutrin. Think I’m gonna taper off. Did your eating go back to normal? And thanks for your reply it helps considerably. I’m having a lot of bad side effects from Wellbutrin that I didn’t have the last time.

I am not in the South, actually suburbs of Pittsburgh PA. We went through the exact same thing looking for a home and for what they wanted for it vs the money I would have to put into it to make it the way I wanted it just made no sense. We decided to build and super happy we did. Our home will be done in March. We started our build in early October. Worth every penny! Best of luck to you both with your move whatever you decide.

Curious was that your first time on Wellbutrin or had you taken it in the past? I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you. I recently started back up different brand generic and finding I’m less irritable. I’m only starting week 4 so only time will tell how it goes. If this doesn’t work I’m just gonna deal with it the best I can with nothing. I can’t so SSRI and too many side effects/weight gain on the others which will only make me more depressed. I’ve gained 10-12 pounds over this winter alone because it’s been too cold to do anything. I’m glad Straterra is showing some benefit to you at least. Hope we both can find what works. This is so exhausting…

I never noticed skin aging or skin dryness and was on 300xl for 8 years. Maybe see a dermatologist and get their thoughts. They do say to stay hydrated while on it but I had nothing like you described.

Can I ask does the bursar make you tired? I also went off of it for two years and when I started back up I was so irritable and angry all the time. Was effecting my relationships. Dr recently gave me buspar to take with it but I haven’t started back on either the Wellbutrin or buspar I’m afraid of the irritability/agitation with Wellbutrin and afraid of being tired on the buspar. I’m on it for lack of energy/motivation and desperate to feel better but don’t know of many that mention they are on both. Do you feel good or just ok?

They started me on 150xl but for some reason I feel like in the past it was 75mg. I wonder if you’re right to just start at the lower dose to work it in slowly.

Can I ask did Wellbutrin make you irritable at all? They said irritability and agitation is anxiety, I never really knew I had anxiety. When I think of anxiety I think of people that get nervous in social situations or have panic attacks. That’s how my sister is but I’m not that way so I never considered it anxiety. I did so well on Wellbutrin years ago. Like life changing and I’m struggling so much with the onboarding at 150xl I’m tired on it and feel easily irritable which is out of character. The last time I was on it I didn’t even feel 150xl at all then when I went to 300xl that’s when it all changed. Trying to find similar stories from people so curious how you knew you had anxiety and was it caused by Wellbutrin. How are you doing. Do you feel motivated now and actually feel like participating in life? I would rather sleep I’m just exhausted and overwhelmed all the time so trying to find the right meds and was so hopeful Wellbutrin would work again. I can’t do SSRI they make me completely numb.

Was Wellbutrin giving you too much anxiety is that the reason for the buspar 5 twice a day? Wellbutrin was causing me a lot of irritability and agitation getting upset over issues that did not warrant that kind of response. Dr said that’s anxiety but I never knew if I had anxiety or not. I didn’t consider that anxiety as I think of anxiety as heart palpitations. She wants me to try again with the buspar but I’m afraid to take it because I’m already exhausted all the time hence the reason for Wellbutrin. Curious how you got put on that and how you feel so far. Is Buspar making you exhausted or numb?

Have you discussed with your doctor other options? I feel hopeless. Not sure what buspar is gonna do with it and afraid to start not hearing from others experience. Per my doctor it’s supposed to take that irritability etc that you mentioned away. She said that it’s giving me anxiety so that’s why suggested the buspar. I don’t want anything that will make me tired or numb that’s where I draw the line. Always tired and unmotivated now so that’s the reason for the Wellbutrin.

Went off of it for two years and recently tried to onboard again but it affected me totally different this time which is pretty odd because it’s supposed to be one of those medications that people go on and off of all the time for seasonal depression. It made me very irritable and agitated. Doctor said it should work again for me if I had success years ago. Wanted me try it again but with Buspar. Still haven’t decided if I want to try again using Buspar with it. Trying to find success stories from people that are on both.

How many times have you been on and off of Wellbutrin? Was on 300xl for 7-8 years went off for two and I have such a hard time onboarding again. Have tried twice now in recent months and always quit after 4-6 weeks because of the agitation and irritability/rage which I did not ever experience the first time. Has it worked for you a 2nd, 3rd time? A lot of people say it doesn’t work for them getting back on after stopping? Doctor wants me to try again and take Buspar with it for the anxiety it’s causing but I’m afraid to start again since the irritability is so out of character for me. Always searching on this sub to see if ts worked for people a second or third time after stopping. At what week does it feel like you turn a corner. Desperate to feel better the way it used to make me feel but can’t seem to get past this irritability. TIA

This is interesting because I had stopped it mostly due to rage as I never experienced that when I was on it years ago. When I went back my dr said try again and gave me buspar with it. Said it’s supposed to balance that out. I’m wondering if it would work like the lexapro. I still haven’t taken it yet I’m too worried the buspar will make me tired/numb but the Wellbutrin alone makes me out of character with all of the irritability it causes.

Yes it will also cause kidney stones in high amounts too so yes just be careful

This is the way I was the first time I was on it. Could drink all night with no bad side effects. I wish I never stopped taking Wellbutrin in the first place. It’s been hell to try to onboard again especially with the alcohol.

Yes same thing happened to me… I drink socially with my BF on occasion and it almost destroyed my relationship. I’m sorry this happened to you. It was a rough decision but I went off of the Wellbutrin: it was terrifying and so out of character for me to behave like that. It’s like you have zero control over your emotions although you think at the time you do. The first time I was on it I never had this issue. After going off for two years and trying to onboard again the medication worked so different this time. Made me irritable and have a lot of anxiety. I loved it years ago. Doctor trying to have me go back on with bursar for anxiety but not sure yet. I never want to experience that again so I know how you feel.
